Looking for guidance from Prime Inc drivers

First, thanks for all the great info on this site. The husband and I are looking to join Prime to do team company driving. I do have a few concerns though. I am going to be brutally honest, and hope you will read through before jumping to judgement. At times this may sound dramatic, and odd, but it is the truth and nothing but. My husband and I have been best friends since the early 90's. This is because I was married to his best friend for 18 years. After 18 years of working my butt off in management, while the ex did not hold a job long enough to be a real partner or contribute financially, I left. Our kids were almost grown, and I could not take the pressure of being the sole financial provider any longer. Shortly after, I started seeing his best friend. We had always clicked, and realized we were a good match and madly in love. Current hubby had a friend staying with him at the time, who unknown to him, had been growing marijuana on my husbands property. When my hubby found out one evening, he told him to pull them immediately, and went to bed The roommate was my ex's cousin. He had shown the plants to my ex. When my current husband returned from a family funeral the next day after finding out about the plants, he found his yard full of cops. My ex had contacted the county sherrif out of spite, and told them of the plants. They were both arrested for possession and manufacturing. After 2 years dealing with lawyers and courts, my husband finally pled guilty, so that he could get this behind him. The guilty plea was set up so that once his probation was over, the incident fell off his record, and technically, according to the state, he was not convicted of a felony. The original charges were almost 8 yrs ago. He has had the same management position since before the arrest. He has passed every test the state had him take. He has proven himself as a responsible manager, citizen, and husband. We have the former owner of the grocery store we work for as department heads, plus 3 former store managers, ready and anxious to provide outstanding references for both of us on our character, working ability, and willingness to be team players. My concern is that when we get to prime, after leaving our management jobs, they are going to see this incident. And not allow him in. We intend on being completely honest with prime, but are still worried. SO, my question is, are we planning and getting our hopes for prime up for nothing? We cannot leave our jobs, without knowing we can get through the background check. We are not delusional enough to think they won't find this. There is also a restraining order my ex took out on me in this same time period, accusing me of some pretty awful things, but all lies, done out of spite, and nothing ever came of it. My ex was angry, and willing to do anything he could to keep us from being happy. We have moved on, been successful, and never let this stuff hold us back. My kids are well into adulthood, and we want this new career very much. Both for the change of career, and the chance to build our retirement fund over the next 12 years, and be able to leave my kids something in the end. Please be honest, any prime drivers with knowledge or information are welcome. I realize there are other companies out there, but due to our location (sw MO) and their reputation, we REALLY want Prime. Thank you in advance. BTW, we were planning on making the jump to prime earlier this year, but due to unexpected surgery on my part, had to delay until I was recovered. I am, and we are close to ready to go.

Question about Prime inc one year contract

Hey all, My husband and I are looking to go to prime cdl school next year to become team drivers . We have read many posts on the forum and have learned quite a bit on what to expect from prime. Our question is this: At what point does the one year contract kick in? During PSD ? After PSD when you pass your driving test? Our only concern is that if one of us can't pass medical or other tests early on, the other will owe the schooling fee. We have no interest in running solo, only teaming, together. We just don't want to add to the scary risk of quitting our management jobs to do this, and then have to owe for schooling in addition if one of us can't pass. We are both commited responsible mature people, hence wanting to make sure we understand how the contract works. Haven't seen this question so far, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys and gals!
