The 2 things that have me shying away from the 740 is the magnet mount and no bluetooth connectivity. I would love the overdrive 7 but that's a lot of loot for a gps

So a little back story I drove regional for Schneider on Walmart dedicated for awhile and they had gps built into the Qualcomm. Well I wanted to be home more than 48 hours so u did a local gig for coca cola well I dont want to be unloading 10 to 15k by hand no more so i switched to Ryder on a regional dedicated account for mmi door i will be monday-friday with to nights on the truck the rest will be home plus off weekends. Well I'm fairly positive they dont have built in gps in the elog system they run so I'm looking at the dezl 770 or ran Mcnally's 740. What's y'alls option on any gps or these ones?

I would assume as long as you can pass your eye exam 40/20 you don't need any restriction or exception for your dot medical card. I actually wear glasses but pass the test without so I don't have a restriction on my medical card, just so if I happen to smash my glasses I can still drive.

Who got the Bedford dedicated account
Yeah I can agree with gtown I was told from hearsay that the walmart dedicated account I'm on was the only one of the 3 profitable I'm on the wintersville walmart account. I also heard via hearsay that us express got it? We have another 3 year contract but if this don't work I'll probably just do northeast regional home Sat and Sun every week.

Local or regional in the Northeast?
Like Steve said Schneider offers dedicated regional which is weekly home time and they have regional also with weekly home time. Intermodal is hard to find without a minimum of 3 months experience doable but hard. Jb hunt and Schneider both offer intermodal with a minimum 3 months experience but your home daily. Goodluck

You'll be running out of the Bedford Grocery DC. Best of luck with that. Study the trip sheets thoroughly, the "secret sauce" required to safely enterand exit the stores is contained in the text.
They gave me the choice of 5 and 2 with weekdays off out of Bedford or 6 and 2 out of wintersville oh so I took the wintersville. Thanks gtown I'm excited about the job but not about not being home. Thanks parrothead thats what i keep trying to remind myself that it will benefit my family

So I take my driving test tomorrow and I've been pre hired with Schneider Walmart dedicated and I am starting to get the "cold feet" of being gone 6 days from my family. Is this typical?

In pa a class a cdl allows you to drive any cdl class other than buses you must have the passengers endorsement. So with that being said I would only assume if you tested for class a cdl it would void whatever restriction you had from any other class.

I have a conditional hire based on graduation cuz Schneider does not offer school in my area I went to one of the Schneider approved schools. On the website it says orientation is 3 weeks at 400 a week lodging breakfast and lunch are provided. I would not want to start out on tanks I have driven a couple hundred gallon tanks in beds of pickups then multiply that by thousands, smooth bore would be a huge learning lession if not a career ender. Good luck whatever you decide.

Getting the automatic transmission restriction removed
Here in pa which I think would be the same everywhere but in pa you must take your road test and backing test with a manual to not have the restriction. My schools only has manual but if you needed to the private license testing centers mostly will provide a manual to take the test in for a fee.

HELP! Unsure of current opportunity!
Correct me if I'm wrong vets but you only have the day to restriction if you take your test in an auto. In pa private licensing agency's will rent out a standard trans truck for you to retake your test and have the restriction removed. I'm going to a private school that they supply the manuals so you don't have any restrictions. You could also try to convince them to foot the bill for a private school.

What If Question - OTR Hot or Cold
I'll take warm and hot any day, although there's a very important question that no one's asked yet, which is if that over 90ºF includes humidity or not. Being from the west coast, I'm firmly in the arid zone and humidity is an evil invented by someone who needs to go shove off.
I'm the opposite, anything under 50ºF and I'm miserable. And cold makes my bones hurt.
Exactly 90 in Phoenix is enjoyable and like 70 at home 90 in pa with all the humidity no thanks.

Thanks guys I've read all the pre hire stuff on the site. I'm curious if me talking to that recruiter counts as a pre hire. I might apply through this website it couldn't hurt

So I have 6 weeks of school left basically the road and range portion. As part of our private school we send out applications, our school has a thing online fill it out once and it goes to 30 companies. I'm really aiming for schneider and I went to do a pre hire and the website froze so 3 hours later a recruiter calls me about not finishing the pre hire. I told her my grad date and she said that the app is only good for 30 days she's calling me back the 29 of January. Is that considered a pre hire? Secondly I have talked to a few others and they don't do pre hires what's the best way of doing the pre hires?

Is four weeks really enough?
I can't speak for everyone but this was definitely me. I've been driving class a for a year but did 53s for four months then went local with side load and 36s I'm going back to regional in 2 weeks with a sleeper and 53s and it feels like the first time I started driving. Luckily I have 4 months of solo under my belt so I think after the first run I'll feel right at home. I'd say 70% of your knowledge learned is from your first trainer they are a great resource.
