NEED HELP!!!!!!! hit a deer need to know what i need to do

So I hit a deer and my boss told me to drive off the thruway and go to a rest stop I am a 1099 employee and I am leaving to go to a bigger better company. can they hurt me from going there was no report and the truck was driven away by me back to the yard should I tell the new company or hope they don't mention this incident.
