I’m not sure about the company you work for but the policy at Prime on wildlife is not to try to avoid them. Square up and hit them and it will be a non preventable. Hopefully it’s like that with your company because it’s way to dangerous to swerve and attempt to miss them. Best of luck. I am sure you will be fine this kind of thing happens a lot.

Tell the new company. it will be on your DAC and not disclosing it will look like hou are lying or hiding things which is not a good impression.

it happens. Fedex threw one into my lane and i ran it over. my FM said "so glad you are okay and safe. let me know if you need anything". be sure the repairs were done properly.

Fm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

DAC:

Drive-A-Check Report

A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).

It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.

Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.

I've hit four in since 2016, with two different companies. Nothing on my DAC about any of these incidents.

On your DAC or not I would definitely tell my new company. It’s best they hear it from you than find out from anywhere else. Shouldn’t be any problem though. It happens
