Prime: Let's do this!

I'm about to head out with my trainer in a few hours. I'm still nervous but not near as bad as I was. We went out on the pad, drove around a bit and then practiced straight back and offset. For as little experience I had I did pretty good after that first couple times. He was patient and helped by asking questions on what I wanted to happen. Hopefully this is a good sign. We are going to be heading Texas and depending on timeframe one of my friends who drives for another company might be able to meet up and have dinner with me, just depends on schedules. I'm super excited to get this going even tho I'll be driving through Houston lol

Do women ever drive flatbed?

I've seen several here during training at Prime and we have a couple fellow female trainees doing it.

Prime: Let's do this!

I don't know about being an ambassador, I'm just doing what I'm supposed to. On a happy note I got a call from a trainer today. We are meeting in the morning for breakfast and will go from there. But I think he plans on doing some pad training and local driving. He says he runs from MO to TX and has an auto, so we will see how it goes. I also got to do a straight back, I did ok with the coaching the pad trainer did the whole time. I'm just super nervous about doing real driving and backing. Like what if I'm so bad I can't keep it between the lines? Lol.. but I know it will all come in time and I'll be fine once I get started.

Take care folks!

So Many PRIME-ary Colors...

Some of the colors are ugly, some are awesome. Tho I have to admit the lease ops have some great looking trucks. We had a bumblebee one here at campus inn the other day. Then last night they had one with flow lights on it.

Prime: Let's do this!

Not been a whole lot to post about. I'm currently still waiting for a trainer, but I'm being patient. I'm kinda bummed, the good thing is they have assume training going on during the day over at the practise pad. Over the weekend we did one day of backing on the Sim and a day off pretrip practise, with only one truck it was crowded. Today we went over and did roll call. Then we did more pretrip, the main instructor showed us how to do it. I was able to partner up with a friend and go through a mock test. We were able to do everything on the truck except In cab, I've think I did pretty well.

Some folks are slowly getting trainers which leaves me without a roommate at the moment. I know this will change, it's nice while it lasts. I'm nervous but hoping we get to practise driving tomorrow.

For now I am going to just relax and maybe practice pretrip more. Stay safe folks!

Prime: Let's do this!

Well dang! And thanks, I'm pretty nervous about getting into a truck. My steering and shifting were a bit sketch on the sim. Granted I know the chances of me driving a manual after training is slim but ya. I'm guessing over the weekend we will be doing some more sim stuff.

Whoooo hooo!!!! I left just as you were coming in....but...who knows. after my home time we might run into each other lol

good luck

Got my badge finally! Didn't get to do the tour or pad time unfortunately. I will be going over for dinner tonight and wait around for a trainer.

Prime: Let's do this!

You guys are hilarious lol rofl-2.gif

Today wasnt super busy. I am currently waiting for my drug test to clear so I can get my green bordered purple badge. I'm hoping at the morning roll call I'll be good to go. Since our class is so big there are about 25 of us waiting, but I know it will clear. Other than that we had a benefits meeting and a meeting about safety and what to expect next. Some of the class who have badges already have trainers lined up. Things will be moving fast enough soon.

I'm kinda feeling bummed about waiting, I'm just trying to be patient. I'm also trying to study pre trip so I'll be ready.

Overall I'm super happy to have chosen Prime. It seems to be a great company, awesome people and I've made a few friends that I definitely want to keep in touch with. On the flip side there seems to be a great many folks that don't want to pay attention or just ask theodt random questions. I know they are just nervous like I am, but it gets old when you are sitting through a class for 2 hours when it was suppose to be 1 1/2. Ya ya it's practice for later at customers I know.

People are slowly getting sent home for things like medications and drug test. The ones for drug test make me shake my head, I'd you know you did drugs why even come? I do think the class isn't losing as many as they expected since we still have roughly 100 people here.

Welp, time to relax and get ready for bed. Tomorrow is a new day that is hopefully full of good news.
