Florida and Prime

Thank you for the reply! I’m not south of I4 but it’s close to me, I’m in what you would consider central Florida. Yes the “eventually” could be any day now or in a few months. I’m just trying to get my ducks in a row. Of course Illinois would have to be different. If that’s the case I might just move to MO or TN and rent a room somwhere in order to change my address. I appreciate all your help.

That would likely work as long as you fit their other hiring criteria. I see you mentioned Illinois, one thing worth mentioning is Illinois will require you to retest in there state for a CDL. Prime (and other companies) will license you in their state and then you can transfer it to your state of residence. Illinois however doesn't allow that. Whether you just obtained your CDL in Missouri or you've been driving 30 years and move there the state of Illinois will require you to retest. There's no way of knowing how long the hiring freeze down there will last however if it's an "eventually" getting started things may change in that time.

Also I'm unsure of where you are in FL but south of I-4 tends to be harder to get hired as there's less loads down that way.

Florida and Prime

Hello all, I’ve been looking around on this forum for quite awhile now as I want to eventually become an OTR driver. I have no kids, spouse, or really any major responsibilities, only my dog which is why I’m leaning towards Prime for training. My question is I know they have a hiring freeze on Florida right now but what if I was to “move” to a relative in Illinois or even rent a place temporarily in another state? I don’t need my home time here in Florida I just live here now because most of my family is here and it’s warm/no state tax.

Clothing

Hey ladies, I’m getting ready to start packing for CDL training and was wondering what do you wear OTR? I was going to pack jeans but then I know they can sometimes be uncomfortable? Any time I ever took a road trip I would wear my workout pants because they are comfortable but also don’t know if that’s appropriate? Please help?!
