Im so excited today. I went in to the terminal today to take my graduation test and I passed it with flying colors! So what does that mean? I get to pick up my own rig Monday!!! Im super excited. Its been a long stressful training period with the complete crap of a winter we have had. It only gets more stressful now but it will also be more rewarding. Im excited to continue this journey as a professional driver at Modular Transportation. The staff there is amazing and would recommend them to anyone. I also wanna thank all of you here who have gave me the little boosts in confidence and the kind words while I was stressing the heck out. So THANK YOU! Drive safe everyone and Ill definitely keep you all posted on how it all goes.

How do you downshift a 10 speed?
Ho do you down shift a 10 speed?
I break or just release the gas and let the rpm drop to around 10 then push in the clutch to move the gear to Neutral, then rev the rpm to about 13-15 rpm and clutch in to get it into the next lower gear. Or to drop 2 gears I let the rpm drop to 8 and then do that same process.

My dad gave me his cobra 29 that he bought right before he retired about 6 months ago. I have no complaints with it at all.

What to do if I dont think I would like Flatbed
Sounds like its just the winter driving that is getting to you. If you change companies to haul a different type of freight...guess what? The winter roads will still be there. They come around every year no matter what type of truck you are driving.
Its not just that. My main thing was trying to get use to driving in this crappy weather while also trying to learn the flatbed side of things as well. Was stressing me out beyond belief. Had me wondering if it would of been easier to start out in a dry van first to learn the driving aspect without the stress of the flatbed aspect if that makes sense.

By no means did I mean for it to sound like it would be easier then other types of trailers. What I meant was while I'm still learning to drive it would be nice to get some nice days to just be able to get a handle more of the truck. Drving on snow everyday is stressing me out to the point I wanna rip my hair out. I would just feel a little more comfertable on snow if I felt more comfertable driving if that makes sense lol.

Decision Time ..
Just a quick question...are you talking about moving to a class B license? If so wouldnt you have to downshift there as well? I would suggest keeping at it. Go for that A. Dont get down on yourself for it not clicking yet. Dont give up. Its not an easy process. What is the actual downshift problem you are having?
