Prior Carrier Reporting An Accident

I recently had a background check completed by a prospective employer. When reviewing my copy, I noticed a previous carrier is reporting an accident. The "accident" was damage to a downspout on a building at the corner of an alley. The damage was reported a week after I had been there. No one witnessed the damage occur. They called the company and said they simply assumed it was me. I took pictures of my trailer with no scratches or damage and was told the company would not be claiming the accident. However now I see an accident being reported. Do I have any recourse? Thanks in advance.
