Deidre F.'s Bio

Hey y'all!! I've been a route driver for most of my working life. I've always wanted to drive the big trucks. Now is my time...yay. I look at it this way, I want to see so many places, and if I don't do this I'll never get past Alabama 🙄😂

PackRat's 2020 Daily Driving Diary

Hey Packrat I'm getting closer, about a week and a half, to sending out applications. Is CFI still doing a CDL school? I'm hoping to apply there, they are at the top of my list!!

Trying to narrow down schools

Lol Don if I had to ride a greyhound bus from GA to anywhere I don't think I'd be the same person ever again 😂😂. Next... So I've got my game plan down. I can't afford a local school so it'll be the alternative. I'm doing my permit test in the next week. I actually can't financially shoot for a class starting date til beginning of April. I've narrowed down all the companies I want to apply to, now it's just a waiting time frame to submit arrrrgh.😳😂 My apt lease is up at end of March thank goodness. Y'all have ALL been wonderful. If y'all have anymore suggestions keep 'em comin'!!

Thank you G-Town with info on the time frame!! I will do as you suggest and apply to multiple companies. Is an invitation a job offer? Rather, what exactly is orientation? 🐢 Protege... I hope to get on with Prime as well and I will be submitting an app to Roehl too. I'm still researching other companies. I just want to get somewhere where I can go everywhere. Not sure about TMC aren't they flatbed? Ain't no way I can lift a 100lb soaking wet tarp over my head 😳😳😂😂 Maybe we'll land at the same place!?!!

Trying to narrow down schools

Yay thanks all!! I have been all thru this site for months, gaining as much knowledge as I can. Glad to hear prime is hiring from GA again. Been trying to find that out for a few weeks. Sent a few voicemails and emails but never got a response. Reason why I wouldn't mind leaving GA as my home state is... I NEED OUT!! Been here my whole life, and also, was curious if there might be more opportunities based out of another state, in case drivers weren't needed out of GA. I need to buckle down because I hope to be accepted into a school by mid March to the beginning of April. I'm so excited I can't stand it 😂😂

Trying to narrow down schools

Hey y'all, I could use some help. I'm in the process of getting ready for a school, any school, well one that allows dogs🤪 after training. I'm trying to get finances in order since it's just me!! Anyway, I'm looking for the best company/school that will allow me to go everywhere. I'm struggling to get any real answer from recruiters. Guess this is normal??! I'm just trying to get out of the Eastern side of the country and toodle-on out west and everywhere in-between. Thanks in advance for any insight.
