Sherice C.'s Bio

I was a student at New England tractor trailer training school (NETTTS). That went horrible even tho I did graduate. Feel free to ask and I will tell. But now I am a proud member of the Prime Inc trucking company. Still in TNT training, but loving every bit of it. 23,000 miles in working towards that 50,000..I posted a quick story for those curious of the process. I'm very open minded easy going down to earth person so if u have any questions feel free to ask. I'm also brutally honest ,so no sugar coating over here. Js.. πŸ˜‰βœŒπŸ½β€

Prime Inc Trainee

Hello everyone,

My name is Sherice and I just wanted to share my journey so far coming into the trucking field and my experiences. First I'll start off by saying it's always been a passion of mine to get into this field. Granted it took me nearly 38 years to pursue but I'm finally here. And I'm proud to say that I made it in with Prime inc. I did alot of research and decided on Prime because I've heard nothing but good things about the company and also because of their extensive training program. Some have complained about how extensive it is, but I like it because they dont just send you out to the wolves on ya own. Especially someone like me being new to all this.

So yes, as others have mentioned theres orientation, PSD phase and TNT phase. And let's be clear orientation is not ya foot in the door, it's the "hopefully you are verified, cleared & make it thru phase..lol.. no seriously, be prepared. It's fairly simple as long as your honest about your work history, background check, and DMV records. PSD phase in my personal opinion is all about your work ethic and willingness to learn. Showing up on time, prepared, eager to learn, observe and take instructions. That's what I did and I "trifect the course" which is when u pass ya cdl test on your first try. I had an awesome PSD trainer as well so that definitely helped.

Then theres TNT phase. Which I'm currently still in. And yes it's TRUE, trainees need 50,000 miles to finish TNT. But the "go get it" awesome TNT trainer I have, I've already accumulated 23,000 miles and I just started beginning of August. So in like 4wks I already have 23,000 miles. I'm not gonna lie at first I was a lil home sick, tired of being on the truck, showering every other day, having only one lil space for my belongings.. you know all the stuff us rookies complain about..πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ but now I'm so used to it. Also shout out to Rainy of truckingtruth for that amazing article about what to expect as a trainee. Sorry forgot the actual title, but man that article saved my life!!! πŸ˜‚β˜ΊοΈno seriously especially the part about lease op's that train.. huge eye opener and helped me to see things from a different perspective. Thanks sincerely to alot of the articles I read here because they've helped me a great deal!. Overall tho I must say I got blessed twice, well I guess 3 times..1 that Prime accepted me onboard, 2&3 got awesome Psd & tnt trainers. So I'm very grateful and humble. Soaking everything I can like a sponge, so once I go solo (company, no leasing for meπŸ˜‰) I will be at least experienced enough to solve problems that may occur as well as reach out to my support team. Anyways you guys I am super hyped and ready to get my own truck and get rolling. So far I have been to Cali and back northeast about 3or4 times, a little Washington state, oh just missed that category 5 storm in Louisiana a few weeks ago and almost crossed the "port" I think somewhere near Michigan where I guess all the good loads come from..lol.. hey bare with me I'm still learning, but basically I'm lovin' it y'all!!β˜ΊοΈβ˜ΊοΈπŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺπŸš›πŸš›πŸ’ͺ🏽πŸ’ͺ🏽πŸ’ͺ🏽 I will try to post some updates of my journey, but no promises..I wrote all this just b4 taking my 10hr rest break🀯🀯🀯 So yeah..we'll see πŸ€— ✌🏽❀
