DOT physical question

Thanks I will use it.

Start using your CPAP. Get used to it. You might find a world of difference in energy. You are 5’1” and 250. Where ever you go, The company is going to order a sleep study.

What you need to do is show compliance in using your CPAP. I was able to get a 1 year med card after 90 day usage log.

DOT physical question

Hello everyone , I’ve been over thinking this, so I had a Dot physical done 3 weeks ago since my BMI is high (250lbs 5’1 Im 23) I needed to take a sleep apnea test ,I took a sleep apnea test at home, the results came back I have moderate sleep apnea didn’t even know I had it. This week I purchased the CPAP machine and started to lose weight since . I had did it through a company’s doctor I won’t be going back to that doctor since I realized the cpm were lower than other companies . I want to go to a different doctor, but should I use the machine first or show the doctor documents that I ordered it. I just don’t want to go in and spend more money . I keep over thinking it. Thank you guys.

This is what the sleep doctor said

“ Recommendations: 1. Treatment of the patient's underlying sleep disordered breathing is recommended. Treatment options can include AutoPAP therapy, Oral Appliance Therapy, and Surgery. Clinical correlation would be required. 2. Weight loss will be an important long-term treatment option for this patient. 3. The patient should avoid respiratory depressants including benzodiazepines, alcohol, and tobacco products, which may exacerbate sleep disordered breathing and disrupt normal sleep architecture, particularly within 3-4 hours of bedtime.. Clinicians administering sedation or anesthesia should be aware of patient's diagnosis of Obstructive Sleep Apnea. May consider ENT referral in the future for evaluation and treatment if warranted. 4. Meanwhile, the patient should be advised against driving or operating heavy machinery if not fully alert”.
