Hello, call me Scruffy! At least that was my CB handle was back in the day. I've been off the road for nearly 13 years, after 10 years of OTR driving. I returned home, earned my national registry paramedic and International Fire Services Academy Firefighter I, II, and Instructor I. Now here is where my story gets weird (LOL), I'm thinking of going back over the road. I no longer have my CDL's but I know I haven't forgotten that much.

Hello, guys and gals, I am a firefighter paramedic who is returning to over-the-road truck driving. Yeah I said returning. Y'all can stop laughing anytime. Just a little back story here, My name is Robert, about when I was a teenager I became a firefighter, then I became an emergency medical technician, then I became a over-the-road truck driver. After about 9-10 years I went back to school and became a paramedic. I have worked 10 years as a paramedic and I'm returning to truck driving. I chose the Wilson Logistic CDL A program. I have my DOT physical, CLP, and a start date of August 3rd. So I'm going to take you along on my return..

Obstructive Sleep Apnea and CPAP usage
Hello, I am looking at getting back trucking. I have a questions about my OSA diagnosis and my CPAP usage, what is the best policy? Do I need to be up front and honest with the DOT doctor and claim the OSA on the medical card? Do I conveniently forget to mark it down, and play the I forgot game? I guess my real question is how strict/obsessive are these new rules about OSA, CPAP? I was never diagnosis before I left trucking, but, now I couldn't sleep an hour without my CPAP. I'm worried my return will be short lived due to a FMCSA loop hole or something. Thanks in advance. Keep the greasy side down, the right door locked, and the left door closed.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea and CPAP usage
You all are right. I obtained my DOT physical, faxed them the CPAP compliance report. I was afraid for nothing. I appreciate the guidance and supportative community. I'm sorry I said anything.
