Getting a job after Dollar General..

Oh we believe how things can change in a minute in those dollar store parking lots. The money just isn't worth it. They often push these accounts on new drivers because even experienced drivers don't want the aggravation.. I know I sure wouldn't. I wouldn't even do one in a day cab.

Someone will give you a chance so don't give up. What part of the country do you live in?

Southeast.. right on the 95, 40 corridor

Well, provided I can find another shot somewhere, I have a metric ton of backing experience already, thats been the best thing I can take away from it. I definitely understand how I could have "avoided" each incident but you can't explain to people that by the time i get out and check my surroundings and get back in my truck 12 cars have zipped in and out and parked wherever they want and could care less about the huge truck trying to move.

Just really hope I can get back on the road, this meant a lot to my family, I work hard to keep a roof over their head, this has been a major setback to that.

Getting a job after Dollar General..

Haven't tried Western yet but I will now, thank you! I am literally to the point where I will take anything if someone is willing to give me the chance to prove myself again.

Certainly wish I would have listened to my instructors in school, it's not that I am even a bad driver I used to get compliments and praise on backing and such and have always been courteous on the roadways, it came painfully clear to me after the incident that didn't actually happen that the company didn't have my back when they wouldn't even investigate the claim they were more worried about keeping the account happy. I was just hoping to make it out of my year and get gone and fell a month short.. All of my incidents happened in Dollar General parking lots, nothing actually on the roadways.

Getting a job after Dollar General..

Main question is going to be, what are my options with 3 reported preventables in my first year?

I started on a DG account out of driving school, I got 3 reported preventables showing on my DAC, I was in the middle of disputing the 2nd one when I was let go, and I am also disputing it with HireRight because it simply never happened. The first one involved a drunk driver and the last one was just a scuff with a straight truck in a tight parking lot (less than 2 ft of a scuff and no damage to straight truck).

I really would like to get on the road again and not on a DG account, I should have listened to my instructors out of school and just stayed away from it, but it was the best money going at the time (I made over 70k in just shy of a year). My fleet manager didn't want them to fire me and has volunteered to be a reference for anything, but I can't even find a company to talk to me right now..
