Is majority big carriers taking new drivers with an automatic E restriction on cdl A?

O i won't drop out since i spent alot of money to get my class a. That's my number one goal.

I asked a dealer and only 5% of new trucks sold are manuals. However... Now that you started trucking school some carriers will not accept you until you get the CDL.

I know prime has rejected people for dropping out of CDL school and those who quit other company programs

I'm in the process in getting cdl a and its extremely difficult to drive a manual without stalling and jerking the truck and im really thinking about trying out the automatic truck. I've read some forums here that was 3 yrs ago that most major carriers are getting rid of manuals in favor for automatic. I would like to know from anyone that's in one of these carriers had they fully transition to automatics now 2021and they are going to stay that way for yrs to come?

How to shift eaton fuller 6 speed transmission correctly?

What i mean correctly i mean like what mph to upshift or downshift with this 6 speed. I have seen the popular 10 speed eaton fuller like ar 25mph u should be in 7th gear since 2+5 is 7 so so forth. Does anyone know about 6 speed tranny? Im training to get my cdl A and im a bit scared to go higher gears to reach the actual 25mph speed limit in new york like i like to stay in 3rd gear which seems to reach 20 mph around 2000 rpms. Thinking about trying to train in auto truck and get a restriction since from what im hearing majority if not all major carriers are using automatic.

What is a US DOT certification course?

Sorry if its a dumb question but im trying to get my cdl from a trucking school in ny and they got this course in a cdl class a package which i don't know if its an actual course i have to go to class for or its a medical card that cdl drivers must have. The school didn't bother to answer the question for me so i need help so i don't have to spend unnecessary amount of money.

Will Large Fleet Trucking Companies Hire Me With A Pending Ticket?

Thank you both i will def do that and Davy when u get accepted let me know so maybe i could try my luck getting my foot into their door and final start my career. Right im just saving up money for a trucking school in my state.

double-quotes-start.png

I meant that mostly in jest about Western, the recruiter there seems really cool and has been calling a lot lately, but nothing too bad. Schneider seems like a good one to go with and it seems like it will go. I do really like a lot of the of what Prime has too offer, but the conversation seemed vague and ambiguous. I appreciate the info. Western seemed like a decent enough place to work for as far as I could tell and the pay structure, home time and equipment seemed to match other large companies, I dont really have a reason not to work for them as opposed to anyone else. The main thing that I was trying to say to Victor is that there are definitely large fleets that will work with you even with tickets and such.

I was actually just looking at CFI tonight. I havent applied for them yet, but that might be a good one to. Im pretty sure Mills is primarily east of i35 and dosnt hire out of CO.

double-quotes-end.png

Hope I helped a tad bit; you seem to be on it as well, good sir .. passing the 'reals' on to Victor!

Check back on those you missed; you may very well be right about Millis/hiring area. I've heard that.

CFI, more broad hiring area; great company that will meet your needs as well. Or more .. you do the research! LoL.

Read OVER my advice over coffee & daylight; and check into some of that I've sent. Both of y'all ~!! PreHires. . . . read that, too.

Best wishes;

~ Anne ~

ps: the end of the tunnels are only as you CHOOSE them to be!

Will Large Fleet Trucking Companies Hire Me With A Pending Ticket?

Yes i know im responsible of my own actions u live and learn ur mistakes. So im praying that i get accepted with my current conditions instead of having to wait for another couple of yrs of no tickets. Hell I'll take the crappies company out there as long my foot is in the door and begin my dream career.

double-quotes-start.png

Thanks i will do that once i get my cdl I'm tired of these 9 to 5 jobs and like to drive for a living and retired as a professional driver but these cops are there to ruin any chance of that. But i wonder if the companies look at the ticket issue date or the date im convicted on?

double-quotes-start.png

double-quotes-start.png

Victor, Davy has experience with this issue. It is causing him problems.

You need to get the ticket settled in court. You also need to be aware that any ticket 15 over is going to be really detrimental to your chances. Every trucking company I know of considers that as reckless driving. Most of them won't touch you if that is not older than 3 years. Safety is a big concern out here. They don't just take the attitude that everybody makes a mistake now and then. They want to see a record of safe driving. You are at a disadvantage when you are competing against folks with good clean driving records for a job. That doesn't mean you wouldn't turn out to be a better driver than those other folks, but it's all they have to go by at this point. They will always choose the folks with the best driving record when they are given the choice.

Don't make the mistake of thinking driver demand makes this career an easy one to step into. Our records follow us. Sometimes they hinder us.

There are a few companies who are less strict on your driving record. CRST, Western Express, and C.R. England come to mind. You might also want to check with CFI - they would be my first choice, were I in your situation.

Conviction date. Its not the cops fault you were speeding. Trust me, I have a serious love of all things that go fast, and ultimately, each time I got a ticket, it was my choice to speed, my choice to ignore the possible repercussions of speeding. At least the recruiters I have talked to have told me to be completely honest about my tickets and take responsibility for them, if not there is a good chance you could get the boot at orientation.

Of course but again nobody and i doubt there are companies that will only hire perfect drivers with perfect record we all make mistakes and get points on our record. If there are companies take felons im sure they take drivers that have some points and just got their cdl. Im able to proceed to get my cdl in my state as long i didn't get major traffic offenses in a cmv.

Victor asks:

double-quotes-start.png

Speeding ticket and i was giving an example with the 40 tickets i want to know if these carriers would take anyone as long they dont have a criminal record

double-quotes-end.png

Trucking companies are looking for drivers who are already driving safely. Traffic tickets are a good indicator of (un)safe driving. Traffic violations aren't really considered "criminal records".

There are Trucking Companies That Will Hire Felons.
