Swift Says They Have Too Many Trucks And It’s Hurting Their Profits

You know Ive talked to a few smaller truck company owners i know and they are saying since the cost of diesel is down they are just not paying as much for the same loads and the flood of new drivers this year was much more than previous years of course alot of them wont be able to handle it even now there wait times are getting a lil worse the appointment times are tightening up but I have learned from all you veterans that the market does this from time to time and the safe and slow will keep running all year and the fast nascar truckers will go broke tryin to make money... trucking tricks drive slow look at everything twice always keep a jug of bio-coolant in the sleeper just in case pilots floor is too cold at 3am XD

Breakdown

So the company mech showed up on monday turns out it was the clutch rod and the knuckle the rod itself was already welded what looked like x2 and the knuckle was completely unusable as it turns out since I was stuck in gear uphill 13speed with a 60k trailer *I did* need a tow truck just to unwedge me from the trailer went to britaain international in portland OR talk about a sweet outfit 365.00 for new rod knuckle combo installed and from pullin up to pullin out since they had all the parts in stock were talking 2hrs tops they even have a decent driver lounge to wait in went back grabbed my trailer and got my load home spent a night with the fam and dropped it this morning early with my new appt time ...next XD

Truckers all makes all styles

So I been running regional Seattle to L.A., as far east as utah solo. Wow maybe I should call this running legit, I have so much respect for my fellow drivers now. This is I believe the Lord's work we are doing. I did so many different types of trucking to get here hauling fruit reefer 48 locals team... but when I see us driving down the highway now , always parking perfectly , I see a bit of my own struggle and my pride swells for all professional drivers. it's like a degree you have to risk your life for...may god bless us all

The new Wal Mart truck

Ya im guessin its powerless heavily monitored and one step away from having an autopilot i prefer clean deisel with a strong metal frame body and lots of power this way the truck will avoid hazardous situations not pollute and last long enough that an o/o doesnt get scrud into a lease where the truck req weekly maintain in the 1000's only to need a new motor just before the lease ends which isnt covered they should make school buses electric not a vehicle designed to function in the worst weather cond which supplies the worlds needs
