CFI training through Trainco Trucking School

Hey Scott,

Joe aka “Santa Actual” is my trainer.

It’s also been nice that I get to learn on the new Omnitracs so I’ll be familiar from the get go with the new software.

Great news Chris. Who is your trainer?

The High Road Online CDL Training

Hi Harry,

I recently did all the permit sections and had no issue passing the permit test first time. Great training material.

Hey Nathan,

Glad to see you made it through! Sounds like you may have gotten some family time in too, hope all is going well!

I may be in the same boat as you as far as having to go to Secretary of State when I upgrade so I can get my actual CDL from them. Have you been there yet to get yours? If so, how long did it take?

I’m on day 13 with my finisher and everything is going well. Haven’t had any real issues and am getting along pretty well with him. We’ve been to Topeka, Seattle, Port Townsend, back to Ohio today and off to Pennsylvania tomorrow with a couple short places in between and so far so good!

Maybe catch you on the road sometime, good luck!

Kearsey

Looks like she's still posting videos on YouTube as of last week.

Has anyone heard from Kearsey? I haven't seen any posts from her in awhile. I miss her wit and charm as only the "Jersey Girl" can apply. I hope everything is fine with her. How about you Anne A.{MomCat} do you know what's up?

No finisher yet, seems to be a shortage of finishers from what’s being said around the Joplin terminal. Been waiting to find out about my finisher since last Thursday. Sat in a hotel in Joplin all weekend with the impression I’d be getting going first thing today but still have no idea what’s going on. Trying to stay positive but this is getting a little frustrating when no one can give me any clear direction. Others here seem to be in the same boat.

Hey Scott, really appreciate it! Going on day 2 of orientation and they definitely seem like good people over here. Looks like I’ll be headed to Joplin on Friday to meet up with my trainer, looking forward to it!

Nathan I hope you’re still doing well! Must be busy grinding out those miles! Well wishes man.

Chris,

Best of luck to you. If you have or plan on getting a passport and want to go to Canada, you will get to know the great people in Taylor well. They handle all of our cross boarder into and out of Canada.

It's a smaller terminal with free coffee and laundry. They have showers and snack machines.

Don't be shy. You will find some very helpful people at CFI.

Hey Nathan,

Hope you’re doing well! It definitely has to be tough missing the loved ones at home, but I’m sure it will get easier as you get more comfortable in the job! Maybe you could get some FaceTime in with them? I’m sure you already have that covered.

I just graduated Trainco this past Thursday and am heading to CFI orientation starting Monday morning in Taylor, MI. They’re working on getting me through orientation in 2 days so I can head out with my trainer asap. I’m definitely excited to get started. Maybe we’ll cross each other’s path at some point.

Good luck out there, stay safe and keep your head up!

Hey Nathan, hope all is well! When and from whom did you receive info regarding orientation dates as well as travel arrangements to Joplin? I’m just starting my second week, test out on 6/10, and it’s been smooth sailing so far. Just starting to wonder how it goes from here.

I really appreciate your diary here, it’s really helped me manage expectations of what’s to come! Thanks!

CFI training through Trainco Trucking School

Hi Nathan!

It seems we are on very similar paths, right down to my son being on his own now and this being a perfect time for this opportunity, dare I say adventure. I'm also from Michigan and will likely be training with Trainco, only about 2 1/2 hours from me, once I receive my physical license in the mail. I would be starting on the 17th of this month but the Secretary of State punched my license when they upgraded it to an enhanced license when I completed the cdl permit exam, so now I have to wait on them before I can start training. So a bit of advice for anyone reading, make sure you don't allow them to do that if you plan on starting training shortly after you obtain your cdl permit.

Anyway, I really look forward to following along with your journey through training as I will be starting as well in the near future! Good luck!
