Well, Josh, I got to choose for my first truck. Either a KW T660 or some Volvo.
The second time around, I had to wait a day before only one was available. That was luck - I got moved up to a KW T680.
It all depends ....
Hey Errol V. how do you like the 680...?

Freight has been slow my friends
Thanks guys. My wife and I are going to get into the biz, that is for sure. I sometimes have a case of nerves, but I get over it quickly. Going 4-6 weeks without a paycheck is a little scary, but after next week, we should have things lined up to where we can survive and stay focused on learning. Thanks for the positive words and energy.
Check out Prime Inc....With Us you only have to go about 3 weeks while in the PSD phase and once you pass the CDL-A Test you are Hired, on the payroll, guaranteed $700 a week while TNT training...Most TNT training lasts 10-12 weeks and then you can upgrade into your own truck and make real money either solo or team, company or lease

Freight has been slow my friends
Hope my post aren't coming off as bad. I just know I'm not coming in as a "good" driver. But my wife and I are ready to bust our butts to become great drivers.
Hi Sam, I would say now is the best time to come get started in the industry so you can become one of the Good Drivers all the Trucking Companies are looking for...!

Hey ken, that's the figures for a sold driver right? Because the lightweight trucks have only one seat... they told me if I wanted to I could have a new seat put in for a rider
Yes those are the current figures for a Solo Driver in light weight truck here at Prime....If you asked for a Condo Truck the pay will be about .39 cents a mile.

Walmart or Miller Transporters?
I've gotten 2 offers one from Walmart as a company driver @ $82,000/yr gross and another from Miller Transporters, family owned tanker business out of Jackson, MS, as an O/O @ $175,000 gross w/ potential up to $225,000. Seen stubs to verify Miller, but as for Walmart this is just from their website. I'm 52 y/o and would like this to be my last job before retirement. How should I go about making my decision? Miller is 35 mi from my house, which should be no problem as an O/O, I could drive my truck home, but Walmart job is 200 mi away.
I would take the Walmart Job and retire from there

Hi all,
I'm new to this and looking into going to a company that pays for school but also has good pay after... Prime in my opinion seems to be the best so far... I am going to put my application in soon. Any way what is your guys opinion on the pay, the recruiter said it's .445 for reefer, .465 for tanker... is this true?
Hi Domnic D. It's True those are the Base Rates for Company Drivers in lightweight trucks...You can also make up to 6 cents a mile for fuel savings bonus. Ken C.
