Day 1 prime

Ken. Our class was about 75 people to start with. Out of those 75, I'd say about 15 of us had our permits.

I was at the Campus Inn this morning (7 am) I had to come back for Sleep Study and couldn't help but notice how many PSD students were still talking about getting their Permit Tests passed today ....Makes no sense to come all this way and not be ready, The 1st week is all about being ready

Day 1 prime

Hey all. Well, so far everything is going good. Despite arriving late(midnight last night instead of 1pm) everything has been great. We turned a 12 hour delay into a sightseeing adventure of St louis (thanks guy jax) I even somehow managed to get my own room!!!! Just roll with the punches, try not to complain and everything works out. Here are some tips that I've learned so far.

1. Prime Inc is no joke. They are VERY professional and courteous and from what I've seen, the actually try to help you out if you have a problem. One guy lost his wallet on the way here and they paid is bus ticket home and are giving him a few weeks to get a new license. So I would prepare yourself to be professional at all times.

2. If you have issues with being on time, then don't apply. They keep stressing to "be on time" to classes and such. If your class is at 7, get there at 630. How can you be on time for a load if you can't even walk to class on time? Bring an alarm clock, set your phone, have a friend call you to make sure you're awake.

3. The first day is ALOT of waiting. So far I just finished physical, pee test and "interview" class was at 7 am. It's now 5 pm and I'm just now finished. Hurry up and wait. Make the best of it. Joke with your fellow class members. Makes it alot easier.

4. Try to network with other drivers and employees that walk around. Make conversation. If you smoke and see another driver smoking, walk up and say hi. So far, if met a few cool drivers and got a wealth of information from them. Some drivers look at you like you're insane if you talk to them, some welcome your questions. That's life. Not everyone is friendly. Deal w it.

5. BE PROFESSIONAL. wear a pair of shorts or jeans, a polo shirt and look presentable. Some of the clothing I seen on students is shocking. Use common sense. If your grandma won't want to see you in a particular "I love nasty *****es" shirt, then leave it at home.. and last but not least, pull your pants up. Don't let them down past your butt..

6. I was shocked in how many students DO NOT have their permit yet. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you get your permit before coming here. Makes life 100p% easier the first few days. All in all, it's pretty cool here. I am finally learning something I've wanted to learn for awhile now. Besides knowing im gonna be away from my son for so long, im actually doing pretty well. Take all the info you can and be kind, courteous and professional. .

Any questions don't hesitate to ask

So...thru no fault of our own, we are stuck in St louis. Next bus outta here to Springfield is 8 tonight. Gonna make the best of it and go sightseeing. There are about 4 of us.

St Louis is an awesome city. Go to the Arch. It's great. The zoo is so big you can't cover it in one day so that maybe out of the question. There are millions of things to do in St Louis including some great museums to wander through to kill a few hours. Grand Central Station, not a train station, has alot of shops and sites to see including a Hooters for lunch. I spent a week there in 2007 and still did not get to see everything.
