Planning ahead.....

If getting your permit ahead of time will make you feel better then get it, the first day or two are usually paperwork anyway and it is a repeat of all the things you filled out already. you might get bored after that if you already have your permit

Will this stop me from getting a job?

Hipa will protect you from that experience but you will be hair tested and that will go back 6 months. you can be drug tested at any time by your employer or any law enforcement officer once you get your cdl. you will be tested after any accident or work related injury and at the start of employment you will also be subject to random drug testing so you better be sure you are quitting. this can be dangerous work.

673.6 miles today

You guys need to learn how to log. there is no 11 hour a day rule. it is 11 hours after a qualifying break. today I drove 10.5 hours in 12 hours. I am on break I will drive at 2300 hours and have 11.5 hours today. Schneider is fine with this and does not allow cheating. this is the first e log I ever had, I was scared I couldn't make money with it. I have learned how. I like it.

2 week notice with Schneider

A you also have to remember that once you work local you will have to take a refresher course before you can go back over the road so be sure local is what you want.
