Truckers Health

A jog around the truck after you finish your pre trip, in route and post trip inspection will keep the beetus away.

Roll up the windows, shut the vents and lock all the doors! All I do to protect my precious milk and amazing air seat. :)

NOT MINE!! My truck is revolutionary! Its a daycab, and they did away with the traditional seat and installed a bed! So I can lean over and take a nap while waiting at the terminal <3

I didn't announce anything yet but, I'm glad you remember me. I'M A DRIVER NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is the milk still angry at you?

Yeah but I tame it well! I still have to fear it though! less I get ****y and roll over and the milk will escape all over the road :(

First bad experience

Great job handling that man. I've haven't been in one of those situations yet and hope I never am. That said, being able to fight that urge to slam the brakes and jerk the wheel was definitely heads up. Even more so with a tanker. A big pay on the back my friend. And thanks for sharing

Thanks man! This is my third time driving on my own too! Didn't expect this scary accident so soon haha

First bad experience

Was driving up interstate 81 with lots of traffic around me when a guy lost some hay squares in front of me. I had to FIGHT THE URGE to swerve out of the way because I was fully loaded with a tanker of milk. And hit a lot of the squares head on.

Didn't even feel it. LOL.

But there was no escaping hitting these things. I pulled over at the closest gas station and checked all my airlines and under the truck to see if there was any metal stuck to anything. But I was in the blue.

Felt like sharing this with you guys :)

New to industry just sent home from first job.

Try a small mom and pop local company. Tell them youre a recent grgraduate with no experience and want an honest job. Theyll help you out more than likely.

Youll be im an old junky truck probably but its good to learn in.

Story of my life right now. I love my old truck even though everyone mocks it. I can control amd shift it plenty fine.

Help With Pre-Trip Inspection

I'm in swift school. They test very hard on pre trip. I need an way that I can learn very fast on this.

Listen. I graduated from Hagerstown Community College in Marlyand amd I gotta say. They got some mkmd boggling pretrip demands and tests. "Securely mounted, no leaks, wear or missing parts" was posted everywhere and even in the restroom!

Take it in and dont turn it into a song. Actually touch the things you inspect and ask the teacher how to know if the item is damaged. Grab them belts and give them a tug, check that oil and get on the ground with a light to check the brake lining!

If you sit there and aing a pre trip inspection song, thats all it is. But if you actually touch with your hands everything you inspect, youll do better and know better.

My story at least.

And dont you ever skimp on these pti's! I do them every single day. Even if im just moving trucks around the yard! I feel responsible for all of these machines and want to help my company treat them good.

Security Guard VS HoS

Not to sound like a grump or anything but im going go be very blunt here. 5 years as an armed security officer and body guard. If the post orders tell me that nobody is allowed to park on property, im probably running you off and idc about your HOS issue, prob should have planned for it. Goodbyeeeee or im calling the police. Lol

Property rules and trespassing are really serious, theres no pity for an accidental HOS violator sadly
