You do realize what will happen to you if you get pulled in for a DOT inspection and they find an unauthorized passenger in your CMV right? You might as well start looking for another industry to join if that happens.

As for the underlined, you terrify me. That type of mentality has gotten innocent people killed.

Has anyone mentioned how much this forum could use a "like" button?

Do you think Werner will fire me?

This is called the Trucking Truth - Sometime the Truth hurts but I'd rather hear the worst case scenario than have people sugar coat it and tell me what they think I want to hear, and then find out later how bad it really is. I'd be relieved and greatful I still have a job. I think I'd double my efforts after that and take the severity of my actions more seriously in the future. I don't post very often I just follow but this for some reason irritated me.

Getting Hired With A DUI

Go to the DMV ask them to print you a copy of your driving record. See what's on there. At least you'll know the dates and if nothing else you know how long you may need to wait. In my state this copy was about $5.00. You need to relax - get a concrete plan. Also while your at it go down to the D.A."s office or the city clerk- wherever you get a copy of your criminal history/background. This will also cost you (I have no idea how much). You say this isn't on your record but they always say that. Sometimes you have to pay to have things expunged even when they say it won't be on your record.( but they don't tell you that ) (Seems odd to me you didn't get a DUI but you had your licsense suspended.) Find out what shows up on your record! That way when you've waited long enough you can investigate going to CDL school or Company sponsored school. Then when you fill out the application you'll have all the pertinent dates and background info in front of you with exact dates you don't have to guess on your application. In other words you want to find out what they're going to find out when they investigate you that way you can tell them the truth and not have any surprises bite you in the ass. Maybe in the mean time you might work on getting clean and sober if that shoe fits, otherwise your just wasting your time !

Prime's CDL apprentice school--preparing to go

Hey Alfred I'm planning on going to Prime myself but at this rate I might not make till August. Personal stuff I have to take care of unfortunately. I will say I've been curious about trucking and doing a little research on this website and also youtube off and on for the past two years. Off the top of my head if I remember right though- Prime gives a 200 a week food allowance when you start your PSD (Pime Student Driver Program) - I think the reason being is that Your going to be at your instructors mercy when it comes to things like where you eat, and what you eat for 10,000 miles. Then your TNT instructor for 30,000 miles and your gonna be be living literally in his house on wheels so other than sandwiches and maybe microwave food it'll be up to him whether you can use a crockpot. I doubt it though. If your going to Prime in 2 weeks thats practically May- you probably won't have .a permit until what 3 weeks if everything goes smooth and you get a trainer right away. Thats almost June- You don't want to bring much more than a military size duffelbag from what I hear. Probably all you'll need is a light jacket and maybe a hoodie. There's all kinds of posta on here telling what to bring- just look. I would say headsets while training are most definitely not going to be allowed whether they're legal or not. That's just common sense, your in training - I'd leave the laptop at home, or least wait until your on your 34 or off duty to use it. Probably smart to feel your trainer out on this but don't take it for granted you can do as you please you'll have your own truck soon enough. As far as coffee goes I'll probably drink the crap out of some when I get there at least until I get the feel of things which will probably take at the very least a year and even that's questionable. I'm gonna travel as light as possible - but check out the forum to find what other people have taken. Check out Prime on Youtube!

Pre-Trip Inspection - My Way! A must see!

Hey Brett - I just noticed your post to Daniel About the Pitman arm and drag link- Was wondering about those? I did find a good picture of the apron in Daniels gallery- Probably the one he meant to use because it's not shown in the pre-trip pictures but it's obvious it's got a big arrow pointing right at the apron. I'm going to look for pictures of the draglink and pitman arm on-line since Ihave no idea what they look like. Probably 3 months before I go to Prime so no biggy. I'm just trying to learn as much as I can before I get there. Thanks again !

Pre-Trip Inspection - My Way! A must see!

Daniel or Brett or whoever - While making some flash cards to study for the Pre-trip - I noticed something (if I'm not mistaken). The picture of the ("Apron" in the "coupling section") is actually the same as the ("Tandem Frame/Tandem Release" picture in the "trailer section"). Don't get me wrong - this Pre-trip study guide is awesome, but this confused me a bit. I thought I'd bring this up so it could be fixed and not cause any one else any confusion. I think a better picture to use would be the King pin picture (shows the Apron) Or the Platform picture (Shows edge of the Apron above skid plate) - I'm going to Prime in the near future and this is going to be invaluable to me - thanks for taking the time to put this pre-trip together. Just wanted to make you aware of this slight flaw ! Other than that this Pre-trip tutorial rocks !
