Drove my own trucks 20 years and drove other peoples equipment for ten years. Been married 25 years, no kids by choice. Chasing the dream. Trucking was great for me, I made so much money it was crazy. But those days are long gone.

I drove for a company that hauled beer. If not going over the scales they ran 53,000 lbs ,but if they went over the scales they were only 52,760. Its was rediculous cus running the local loads no scales within 10 miles. But going over the scales you had to check somewhere. Needless to say I moved a lot beer by hand.

I have 52,900 all the time. Beer shippers are the cheapest. Make sure how much fuel you had when you weighed it. If you were low your gonna have problems.

Prescription meds and drug testing.
I have to take painkillers ffrom a drunk driver doing 70 in a 35 and hit me head on. I take one every 4 hours for pain. I have never tested positive for anything. There's not enough hydrlcodone to make you test positive for anything. You would have to take 10.

I was an owner operator for 28 years , flatbed. Sold that and drove a co truck for 3 years and I've done it all except what you're doing. Is that pulling mobile homes?

Hey that line I've done more miles in reverse than anyone forward, that's me. Where's the guy that had an airline for an ambilical cord. Gladhand is a wave, goodtimes no doubt. Or do like bj mckay and play smokeybear a game of football over a speeding ticket. Heads I win, tails you lose. Where have all the goodtimes gone. That's what I had across my hood. "Goodtimes"

Truck Stop Waitress Shocked After Truck Driver Writes This On The Receipt After Dinner
I'm not an "owner-operator," and I have money in the bank. If I don't spend it, I have to declare my checking account balance on the 1040T (for truck driver), after which, the government just takes it.
Dave
If you're an owner operator and have money in the bank you're doing it wrong.

And wait, let's not forget weight. What 80k minus your tractor trailer weight is whar you should be able to get over the scales. So short hood pete with little cummins and super singles with a brand new great dane 48 with super singles. Total weight with one half tank of fuel 26,200. Great I can get 53.800 lbs of freight over the scales and on to fresno. On a daycab no less. From San Barnadino. All legal of coarse at 54.6 mph the whole way.

You either have to have hourly card time or log book. You can just show on duty until your day is through.

All you need is bailing wire and duct tape. Oh yeah and one 5/8 bolt to lock the engine fan on in case the sender or fan clutch goes out.

What happens if a headlight burns out
Just keep plenty of oil in the radiator and keep water pressure up on tires.
