Becky, welcome to the forum!
Is your husband an owner operator?
Yes. He's been a company driver for several years, so to be on his own has him in cloud 9. Thanks for the welcome!!!

My husband decided to go out on his own in March '14. I'm taking a sabbatical from teaching, so am serving as his secretary, etc. I would like advice on how to organize the piles of papers, receipts, settlements, etc that are quickly piling up. I'm not familiar with the industry, but would like to take over the paperwork end of the business while home. Suggestions? Blessings! Becky

Trucker's wife/secretary
After being an in-town company driver, my husband is now driving under his own authority. I am a teacher/mom who is taking a year off, so the paperwork has become mine. My husband has files set up to organize all necessary documents, receipts, settlements, repairs, etc. I think he has things filed too broad (ex., general purchases, repairs). I think they should be more specific and would love to get the system up and running so that he can simply come home, drop his receipts and paperwork on the table and snug with our girls and me. Although I have been the wife of a trucker for over 11 years, I'm not familiar with much of the business. Are there any stay at home wives who handle this end of the business that would be willing to help me out? I'd really appreciate any feedback/advice.
