Is your husband an owner operator?
An owner-operator is a driver who either owns or leases the truck they are driving. A self-employed driver.
I keep a binder with plastic inserts and file it that way. I also have those tabs you can pull and stick to write down notes and things I can stick to the insert to organize better. That works pretty well for me.

Yes. He's been a company driver for several years, so to be on his own has him in cloud 9. Thanks for the welcome!!!

My husband decided to go out on his own in March '14. I'm taking a sabbatical from teaching, so am serving as his secretary, etc. I would like advice on how to organize the piles of papers, receipts, settlements, etc that are quickly piling up. I'm not familiar with the industry, but would like to take over the paperwork end of the business while home. Suggestions? Blessings! Becky
