1st week of Schneider training finished!

I love Schneider, great company. What do you mean you got an 8? I just finished with them too a few weeks ago. In fact I quit out of emotion and got rehired. I have to be in Carlisle on Friday at 2 for my SQT.

If your talking about the road test of week 1 do you mean an 8 out of 25 on the road test?

yes, when you take your SQT's if you score a 25 or higher you have failed the road test.

Another newbie question. sorry

Ain't that the truth! I started last Friday morning. Here's how this run went so far....left Indianapolis Friday morning 7am headed for French camp Cal . Got held over in Wyoming for 24 hours because I-80 was shut down. Went over Donner pass around 11 p . Then did toje? Pass. I know I spelt it wrong. Get into French camp, pick up an empty and head to Fontana Cali. Got to San Bernardino at rush hour. Not fun! Pick up a load there in Fontana and take 40 into Arkansas. Nice ride thru AZ. get to Arkansas last night. Dump the relay, wash the truck. Transflo, get an empty sleep a bit and pick up at fed ex and headed back to Cali now. So all in all its been good except that 100 miles starting at Laramie wy.

Another newbie question. sorry

Hey Thumper - sorry it took so long to respond.

I've never heard of a limit to having the Jakes on. I've rode them hard down the longest, steepest grades in the country for years and never had the first concern and I've never heard of anyone having problems keeping them on. So as long as you're not detecting a problem of any sort you can use them all you like.

Awesome!! Thanks Brett. I'm in sleeper berth now headed back to Cali.

Another newbie question. sorry

Just leaving Cali today . On my way in I did Donner pass, hit French camp then down to Fontana. When coming down these grades how long can I have the Jake on? I noticed that when the jb is on I get 0 mpg and my temp drops from around 200 to 170.

Miscommunication. They do book your hotel but won't do it till your results come back.

I'm sure you are. I know I was!! It takes about ⁴ days to get the drug results back. If I remember correctly, they give you next available dates for orientation but don't book your hotel UNTIL the results come back. I'd just give them a call again tomorrow. Any recruiter can help you. GOOD LUCK!

Did you apply on line? You can call 800-44 pride and talk to a recruiter. It depends on how long it takes to verify your work history. A few days. Then there's phone interviews. Then drug tests. I'd guess about 2 weeks max. Just all depends on your situation really.

1st week of Schneider training finished!

I take my final road test on Tuesday for getting hired. I think what I'll do is a detailed explanation of my 17 day course. I believe there's a blog type section for it here.

1st week of Schneider training finished!

Finished up my first week today at Schneider National. For you guys that went thru this training I got an 8 on my final test. I've already talked to my TE for next week and he sounds like a really nice guy. He's got a 2015 cascadia evolution that's about 2 months old. And I can't wait to go trucking in that bad boy! I couldn't be happier with the choice I made by choosing them. Trainers are excellent, patient and highly personable. They want to see you be the best you can be. Any questions about Schneider feel free to ask me. Stay safe out there!

Finally!!!

Being off the road for 2 years and trying to get back in a truck is HARD if not damn near impossible. But I did it. It took ALOT of phone calls. Searching. Talking to people. Recruiter after recruiter promising you the world. I got in with Schneider as a team OTR. it definitely wasn't my first choice of jobs to be OTR but they gave me my shot. No contract. Don't have to go back to school. I'm going to Indianapolis for an 18 day orientation on the 28th. Some of you may remember I was stressing over the hair drug test because, well, I'm freakishly hairless. I'm Irish/polish. Give me a break huh! So for all you guys and gals getting frustrated, keep your head up and keep on keeping on. If you try hard enough and want it bad enough you'll get it!!!
