I'm craving.....

SUSHI!

Of all the foods to be in the mood for, that one is going to be pretty hard to find at (or near) a truck stop. Lol. I never eat sushi, but for some reason all I have wanted to eat for the past two days has been that. Weird. I will just have to keep an eye out and hopefully I can find something in walking distance somewhere.

Hope everyone is having a great day. Keep on truckin'!

Confused about Progressive Shifting

My truck shifts much more smoothly at 1200rpm. You can do it double clutch or float the gear. You learn to do it when your getting your CDL in that higher range because that gives you more time to get the shift done, but once you have the hang of shifting, progressive shifting will probably start to come naturally because you are going to want to shift faster anyway

Hrynn, so you're saying Roehls has a drop yard in Spfld? I'll call again and ask. Springfield is not a safe city tho...lol

They do have a yard. It is shared with another company. They may not hire out of there, I was just wondering if they gave you a reason

You take the truck home even in the extended hometime fleets. On their jobs page I found a 7/7 listing which I just assumed would be a slip seat position. I dont work for them though so I may be wrong. I will defer to you

The first sentence is supposed to be a question. I read they had part time positions and I am wondering how that works if you take the truck home with you.

Yousaid thatta you were okay working for a couple of weeks if you got at least 3 days at home, right? The regular roehl hometime policy is 11-14 days out earns you 3 days at home. Now they also have the hometime fleets, but as RV said, that might not be available in your area. You have to live within a certain distance of a dropyard. RV was told they don't do hometime fleets out of the yard nearest her, I'm not sure why, so you will have to call and ask what/if they have available extended hometime options.

(RV, did they say why? The only theory I can come up with is that is not a secure yard so maybe they aren't comfortable leaving trucks there unattended for a week at a time. Most yards have a locked gate that you need your company id/gate pass to get in, but if I remember correctyly Springfield was just open. Darlington is also open though and I think they do hometime out of there....no idea).

Schneider I've heard also offeres extended hometime options, but they don't advertise it as much as Roehl so it may be a little more limited in availability. You will most likely still need to live near a Schneider facility and as with Roehl you will just have to call them to see what is available. I don't know much about Werner's hometime policies.

License Question.

I live in and got my permit in Ohio, but my company sent me to a school in Wisconsin. I took my cdl test there as well. There werent any problems for me, I just had to transfer the license over to my home state when I got back. It was a little annoying having to pay license fees two times, but the process went smoothly

Millis, Crete...etc

I thinnk when it comes to team driving you need to think about the wages a little differently. I haven't done team, so correct me if I'm wrong.

On the surface -.22 cpm seems ridiculously low, but that truck is going to be turning double the amount of miles. I think it will average out in your favor most of the time. The truck is no longer confined to a 14 hour clock. I would try to think of it as you are getting paid .22 cpm bonus for miles you don't even drive or just think of it as you are getting the whole .44dcpm (since you should be turning double miles anyway)

More Companies That Allow Pets

Roehl also now has a pet policy. The company faq page on this site still says they do not
