Cdl permit holder now what?

Just remember that the school has to at least offer a minimum of 160 hour course.

Interning with owner ops and farm truck drivers will not count toward nothing as far as companies are concerned.

thanks talked it over with my wife, get house bought, payments set and then figure out where for school, its really the best way to go,unless i want to be stuck haulin corn and/or scarp car, which i don't still like the looks of roehl, thats me,ken

Possibly Roehl CDL Training

Hey! I just finished phase 1 with Roehl and got officially hired on monday. I'm currently waiting to meet my trainer tomorrow.

Like you, I came to Roehl with my cdl already obtained. I am Very happy with Roehl so far.I went to appleton wisconsin for training. The training was very thorough and done very well. They put me up in a very nice hotel and good food was provided. The instructors were great and I talked to many drivers at the lounge. All were very positive and had no complaints.

Tomorrow I should start driving with my trainer over the road! If ud like I can tell u how that goes as well. Any questions ask away. Good luck!

please keep posting would always love to here bout rail have thought long and hard bout them

Cdl permit holder now what?

Ken,

Making a change in your career is a big step. I suggest you weigh your options.

Are you unemployed collecting? If so you may qualify for state aid in my state we have the one stop career center that helps pay for training to help a person change careers.

If you are currently employed I would suggest finding a school that would teach you on weekends and since you have your PERMIT already they should cut you a deal on road time.

If you are employed figure out a way to get your employer to lay you off so you can collect unemployment while you attend school or go to a sponsored school so that your financing will be covered.

Get a personal loan large enough to cover your expenses with driving school and your first 3 months of being on a limited budget?

Hell, I can keep coming up with suggestions but what fits you is up to you. I am out on partial unemployment soon to be full unemployment because it's the end of the school year and I am going down the route of the state paying for my education then it's off to Prime or Werner or Schneider whoever will take me.

thanks road ra i need to contact pdi in rochester ny they do weekends forgot ,i also have a few o/o i can intern with.also have a few farn truckers down the road,so i'll keep lookin, btw i have been a mechanic for close to 30 yrs
