Screwed By CRST

So I went with CRST.. I have always wanted to drive and took the deal where I go to school, then do the ten month slavery contract..OK i accepted it.. So before any of this I spend hours and hours asking questions wuth my recruiter.. I have No criminal record and pretty much a clean.driving record the past 14 years..However, I did have a ticketed fender bender in Aug 2013 and I was addament with my recruiter that I wanted to BE SURE it would not affect my hireability.. He told me.he was going to check.my MVR and get back.to.me.. So two days later I get the call and he says "No Problem Tony" you are ALL SET, when do.you wanna.start.. SO i spent my Christmas and New Years in a rat shack ****roach infested hotel as I completed my CDL training..Training was GREAT and I realized I really love this.stuff..So upon graduating I drove the 22 hours to Cedar Rapids Iowa for Orientation.. I walked into the most disgusting living situation I have ever experienced, the Cedar Rapids Dorms made the motel look like the Bellagio.. In the few hours I left my bags in my room two.pairs of.sneakers AND my work gloves were stolen..ANYWAY halfway into the day I get pulled from class and Dismissed due to.my ticket in 2013.. I was furious and went straight to the recruiters which.looked like your classic.call center, I talk with the recruiter AND his manager and he tries to tell.me I.never told him.. I said BS You told.me.i had nothing on my.MVR and to.not even.put it.on my application..But i.am honest and to.cover my ass I.made SURE i.wrote that on my application at school AND on the CRST orientation application.. They apologized and said it was an.oversite on their end..Holiday office excuses..So basically this ass.lied to.me, got his commission, and cost me..month of.my life,my holiday with.my family, and most of.my savings..ONLY to.be stuck.in Iowa with no job and a bus ticket home, which had to.be the cheapest because it took.nearly four days to get home.. Now he won't return any of.my calls and I.am.an absolute.mess.. I just wanna drive.I am.willing to.go.OTR,teams,single ,whatever and I do not kbow what to do.. Will ONE fender.bender and ONE ticket for improper lane change from almost 2 years ago keep me from.driving in this industry? Like i said I have no record, a two year associates, i graduated first in my CDL class and I have the school.and.all my instructors willing to vouch.for.me.me.. PLEASE HELP and give me.some advixe, I dont want.to.give up but my first and.only experience in this industry has really discouraged me... Any hope.for.me?

Thank You TruckingTruth

Hi All ImTony.. I'm 29 years old and made the decision to get my CDL..Im shipping out in one week and will spend my Christmas and New Years in school and orientation with CRST. Now I've been reading and researching for awhile, and this is no snap decision. I understand this is more than a career choice it is a way of life. So for this guy it is a life decision so I can support myself and make a decent and honest life for myself, my fiance, and our Labrador.

Now my financial situation unfortunately has steered me in the direction of signing"the contract" and slaving away for ten months at low pay to get the CDL and start trucking. Im excited, anxious, and to be honest a little scared.. But I am GRATEFUL that in the good ole USA there is a way for me to get some education AND experience under my belt while putting a LITTLE money in my pocket. Thank God for a company willing to do that for me...AND THANK YOU TruckingTruth.com and all you guys n gals who take time to post on here. It truly has comforted me and helped me along the way with this process.

Also the CDL training program on here is AWESOME and I thank the good Lord someone took the time to offer it online FOR FREE so this guy can prepare for the school. I have been studying two hours each night and WILL enter school next MONDAY knowing I'm gonna ACE the written exam, Super Pumped and I Look forward to my future and talkin with all my trucking brothers and sisters. I do not want to believe the brotherhood of trucking is dead like a lot of internet posts say, and I am darn proud to have an opportunity to hopefully be a part of and CONTRIBUTING member of it! :) Sincerely, Tony A.
