Just got my CDL

So how do you like Modular Transportation? I just started CDL school today and a recruiter from Falcon stopped by. Never heard of them before. Sounds like a good company... How are things going for you now?

Phencyclidine (PCP) ? People still do that? Had not even heard the name since the 70s.

As for illegal or recreational use... Whatever you do to your body is up to you. Just don't do it when you can be a menace to others. I don't even take aspirin unless I am near death. Drug screen is the last of my worries.

Yeah PCP is stupid. Most drugs are. Especially if you are over 25 and working.. or better yet, looking for a job!!!!

At&t owns cricket wireless

Here in Chicago, Cricket is known. They kinda were shotty at best. The only good thing about them was that you were able to get service in Canada. But recently AT&T purchased them and moved them over from CDMA to GSM technology. AT&T is really upgrading them and they now are on the AT&T network.

Here is an article on it: http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/atts-revamped-cricket-will-take-t-mobiles-metropcs-aio-look-rate-plans/2014-05-18

I personally was also looking at Cricket. Especially once they allow service in Canada, since I want to drive across the border as well.

Hope this helps.

Info on Drug Testing: Panels etc

Here are some links for info on the different types of drug tests and what they test for.

Physician's Guide to Blood and Urine drug tests... AIT Labs: http://www.aitlabs.com/uploadedfiles/services/pocket_guide_smr086.pdf

Quest Diagnostics Hair Follicle Test: http://blog.employersolutions.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/hair-testing-faq-july-2014.pdf

Both are directly from the labs and provide info on what they test for, how they do it and how they find it. I am not sure about trucking, but Quest Diagnostics is the go to for every other industry needing pre-employment drug screening.

In re: to panels. The majority of places I have looked into do the 5 panel drug test as required by DOT. Marijuana/THC, Cocaine metabolites, Amphetamines/MDMA, Opiates, PCP. Others will do 10, 12 and 20 panel. But those are really expensive and not as common.

Hope this helps.

Wrong on the Bupropion, you can take it.

I'd hope so. That would be kinda harsh otherwise.

HELP! Home (or truck) remedies, anyone?

If you have access to hydrogen peroxide, gargle with a tablespoon or 2 of it for 30 secs to a minute. it will start to foam. its gross. swish it around your mouth and into throat. dont swallow. spit it out. then brush your teeth and then rinse and gargle with warm salt water to remove the remaining hydrogen peroxide.

its amazing how that works. esp right before bed.

if its just sore and painful with no productive cough, take ibuprofen for the pain and you can use choloroseptic or some kind of lozenge. and instead of coffee drink tea with honey and lemon. also avoid all citrus and tomato acidy foods. of course try to get rest and sleep....

Just for clarification for all those who may be like what the heck is this guy talking about.. hydrogen peroxide?!?!?

http://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-4570/hydrogen-peroxide-mucous-membrane/details

It is also used for canker sores and whitening teeth (thats what dentists use in higher concentrations). its a great secret that isnt really well known. much better than mouthwash as long as you dont over do it. only thing is it doesnt give you that minty orbit clean people like. but you could chew gum for that

Not official DOT list, but very helpful!!!: http://www.truckmed.com/medications.htm

One item of particular interest (or concern, depending on the individual) is that any prescribed medication for Depression is not allowed. This was found on the link I quoted above. I know it's not official, but I have read numerous threads that say the same thing. Which is strange, considering the amount of people who take Welbutrin/Bupropion for seasonal depression and cigarette cessation.

Jeez truckers go through more hoops than Doctors and Nurses do. WTF!!!!!!
