Progressive Lenses

Yes, Greg, that is a strange looking Avatar!! LOL!!! kind of creeeepy!!! embarrassed.gif

Hello and hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! I have a question about progressive lenses and am wondering if they are working well for the truckers out there or not working so well? I myself only wear bi focals and have 20 20 vision on top. I am thinking of getting the progressive lens to be able to wear sunglasses and also have the benefit of bifocals. I don't like the idea of having to reach for or find my bi focals all the time, or wear a chain with glasses around my neck. How are they working for you? Do you like them? Do they stay dark when you need them? Just wondering on your thoughts about this?

Thank You so much!

One more thing. Transition lenses dont work inside the car. They are activated by uv rays so you would still need another pair of sunglasses or clip ons any ways. I had a terrible experience with transitions and will never go back to them again.

Nothing about glasses . . . just, Greg, that is one creepy photo . . . I have to scroll the page every time it shows up and that makes it hard to read what you write . . .

Uploading pic for Avatar

Okay, I need help here... I have been working on this and still can't get my photo from photobucket to go as my avatar... I have Windows 8.1 so maybe that might be the difference... I don't know.. I follow all the instructions on how to do it and am not seeing the things I am supposed to see like the link and how to copy it... I copy and paste it into my avatar web address and it doesn't come up..... Does anyone here know how to do it and explain this to me.... I have worked with computers for 14 years and can't get it.. Kind of frustrating.... ugh!! Please help!!! confused.gif

If u r using an ipad or tablet just tap the photo you want to use so it opens up that photo. On the right side you'll see the "direct link" box. Tap so your cursor is inside that frame and hit select all. The entire line will highlight then tap copy. From there just paste it into your profile box and hit save. I just changed mine so it works.

Thank You so much Gunner! I really appreciate your help! It worked and now I am happy with my Avatar! Happy Truckin' to you and have a great 2015!

Sinus Issues

Well Daniel, I am definitely going to give it a try! Never too old to try new things! Thanks so much for your post! Happy Truckin' !thank-you-2.gif

Just wanted to share with you an all natural pill called echanacea. It is available at your health food store. It actually maintains healthy yeast levels in your body. I was a chronic allergy/sinus sufferer. No more!

Sinus Issues

I just wanted to share something to all of you who have sinus issues and the headaches due to weather changes... I have struggled with this for years.. went to doctor after doctor and nothing but coming home with new prescriptions which only work for 2 days or so then stop working.. I tried something by Arm and Hammer called Simply Saline Cold formula.. I have been using this for 3 weeks now and it works like a charm for me.. I sleep so good, unlike in the past waking up feeling unrested. I don't know how many of you have the issues that I have but it is well worth a try. I give it two shots in my nose before I go to sleep and it works great.. Hope this helps any of you who have these same issues as I had.

Jerks at truck stops

Don't ever forget this... They were at one time in your shoes... Obviously they have forgotten.. Just write them off as a rude and useless human being... You are a good person and don't deserve treatment like that.. Just shrug it off and make this just a learning tool to help you become the best driver out there!! You go guy!! Don't get discouraged and ''Keep on Truckin'" !!! good-luck.gif

I'm not very good at backing. I'm in training and I haven't backed nearly as much as I wish I would have yet. While I'm happy with my ability as far as all of the other aspects of driving a truck, the backing is below average at best.

So I'm at a TA today, a really tight and small one, trying to back into a truck stop hole for the third time I've ever tried to do that and I'm really struggling. My trainer is stressing me out by trying to over-instruct me instead of letting me feel it out, there's trucks waiting to get by as I'm blocking the aisle, there's guys sitting in their cabs laughing at me... all of the normal things that add to the stress level in that situation.

But then I notice something more. There's a guy in a Trans Am truck directly in front of me recording me on his phone while laughing. I am now mad as a snake. I finally do get into the hole and I get out of my truck and go over to his and lose my mind.

I know that wasn't the right reaction and actually a very dangerous one and if I took five minutes to cool down I probably would have reacted differently.

Video taping someone who is clearly new to backing as they struggle trying to back though? Seriously? You have to be quite an inconsiderate jerkoff to do that. But it's not just that guy, it's all of the other guys sitting there laughing at me too. Watching someone who is new to something go through the very frustrating struggles as they try to learn is apparently entertainment. I wonder what could be so wrong in someone's life that another person's demise makes them happy.

Enough ranting, but for anyone who likes to laugh at new drivers while they're practicing, just remember they're trying their best, you're not helping, and you're probably bringing bad karma your way.

Advice on going solo with NO otr.

I DO have advice... Go out and get some driving experience for Heaven's sake!! How do you think you are going to go out and drive without any experience and just go because you have a CDL???!!! I would be very afraid out there with a trucker with no experience! How did you get your CDL in the first place??!! Wow...... Scary!!! shocked.png

Got my cdl class a 4 years ago and never drove. Now an o/o has offered to hire me put me in the truck with a load and jump right into it with no hands on training and offered me 36 CPM tax free with 1099. I really believe I can wing it due to the massive amount of research I have done. Any advice?
