The best part of those DG fresh loads is that there's no toppers! I did it once, I had 9 stops, but wasn't at a store for then about a half hour. 45 minutes if I was going slow.
I was supposed to go home tomorrow but they made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. They offered me a ridiculous amount of money (900)on top of what the load pays) to come pull a 2 day reefer load for the dg fresh account, go home and do my reset and then come back out and pull reefer for next week. 🤷🏻♂️ I called the wife and said I would be a day or 2 late lol.

At least you've been working. I sat from Saturday until Monday. Was able to deliver to one store Monday afternoon, the next Tuesday morning. Then I put my truck in the shop Tuesday afternoon. Still waiting for them to replace the window. And I think today was the first day my DC was letting drivers roll again. This weather has been crazy.

What about night/weekend schooling?
I went to a private school, did the 8 weekends. It took me a little extra time to get my liscense (I tested 4 times), but I got it. Then went with Werner and they gave me tuition reimbursement. I've been with them for 2 1/2 years now, 2 of those years on dollar general.
What were you doing for the first 1/2 year?
I was otr. I never wanted to do the dollar account but once I started doing it and got the hang of it, it wasnt that bad.

Haha, I'm there now. I though it was a decent enough place. I'll definitely be back when I'm up this way again.
Dysarts in Bangor, ME used to be really nice. Before the kids took over. Now it's gone to hell

Had to extend my Permit for another 180 days in Mass..
I would ask the school, i never had to extend my permit. I think mine was good for 2 years.
If it makes you feel any better, i tested 4 times before i passed.
MASS CDL EXAM...I passed my air brake, pre inspection part of the test first time BUT failed on a alley dock!.. I didn't have to take my air brake test or pre inspection again but i failed stupidly on maneuvers.. 2 times! ughhh. Had to take a little time off due to a family incident. Before my permit expired, I extended it for another 180 days, started back refreshing lessons with the school. MY QUESTION IS: when i go for my exam will i have to take the air brake and pre inspection test again? Like i said, i extended my permit, its a new permit and i no longer have those passing stamps in the back of the permit. Does the state trooper log it into something? one thing i should mention i changed schools.

Be patient. Take your time. Expect the unexpected. Dont be surprised if you dont train on the account you applied for. Training might be closer to six weeks.
Also, that terminal in Joliet is brand new. It just opened a couple weeks ago.
Good luck, drive safe.

First (and last) day w Dollar General
The exact numbers vary by DC, but you get cpm, stop pay, and unloading.
If you don't mind sharing, how did the pay breakdown? Was it paid per case, or by stop? also, how much was it per case, or stop? Also, what was CPM? do they have any sort of pay guarantee ( say 800 per week) or anything?

I run Dollar General with Werner, I've never felt abused. Actually, they leave me alone most of the time. I'm making decent money, its not that bad.

Silly Question - Where would I pick up my truck - at a terminal?
When i first started with Werner, I was in Allentown for about a week. The first two days were orientation and the rest was just waiting for a trainer. Im pretty sure i was the last one from my class to get a trainer. I was with my trainer for six weeks. I was issued my truck from the Omaha terminal.

Werner making me go 8 hours away instead of one
My guess is that was the closest available trainer. Which terminals are they, if you dont mind me asking?

I think penndot lifted the restriction. They have a facebook page. Im headed to PA tomorrow too.
Anybody know if we will be able to get into pa tomorrow? I have a load to mechanicsburg tomorrow. I'm new to this territory. How long do these closures last? Boy I'm missing my Walmart dedicated account right now.

First trip to far northeast. Advice?
I've been coming up 95 Friday nights for a while now and have had pretty good luck finding parking. There's quite a few service plazas in CT, the first one going northbound is the smallest i think. I don't go there. I also try to avoid the pilot at exit 40.
I think you'll be alright though. I-95 is pretty much a straight shot to Canton.

A little unabashed self promotion, but also mobile recording in the rig.
I've been thinking about getting E-drums, I never considered putting them in the truck, haha
