Starting on at SRT

Well its been a crazy 3 days. I was unable to get on the greyhound so I got a friend to drive me so 7 hour drive instead of a 22 hour bus ride. Spent sunday relaxing at the hotel and monday started classes. I will recommend SRT to anyone that can handle a fast paced school setting. Its tuesday and we were on the range today learning about the trucks. They tell us and have already shown that they will teach you till you have it they have very high standards that are there to set you up for success. Best part they are willing to let you have fun learning. If anyone has questions about SRTs training program pm me and ill answer what I can.

Getting ready to go to Prime HQ in MO for their CDL training.

Have you had a sleep study. Some of the companies are requiring a sleep study for overweight employees? Maybe extra chargers. I use the usb ones and plan on bringing 3 cables and 2 of each wall/car charger those things like to short. If you have room extra underwear is a good idea. You can manage to wear you shirts and pants extra days but not some much on socks and from what I seen its not always easy to get to a wash machine.

Doesnt matter we like or not those cameras are coming and they can be nice and tell you they are there or they can hide them. At least if you know you can do the best you can and be done with it. And I did mean id have a cam in my direction also. If im in the wrong im in the wrong but if im not looking at maps or cutting my steak or reading a message on the qc any of which can wait and I watching the road my mirrors and my gauges and camera is going to show that. But you rear end a vehicle and just have a front facing camera and you just get a message from your dm or on your cell isnt it reasonable that someone can argue that you were checking said message even if you werent you were doing your job but you checked a mirror at the wrong time now who pays? You did your job and can not prove you were checking a mirror. If you had a driver cam you could prove it but you dont so now you pay cause of it. Is that to say they can not use against you no they can be and I am not dismissing that at all but I see where they can help and if people would stop and think instead of blowing up about it they may see the help in these. If done right and everyone here knows the first ones out are going to fail in some way they will help drivers be safer. Did the first qc's work like they were supposed to or the first iphone or the first android no the phones had bugs but they are working on them and cell phones have come a very long way in a very short time. So given time I think these cams will help drivers.

Im in no way saying they are a great idea but I do plan on having my own dash cam if the company I hire with doesnt have them. They can protect as much as hurt and there in lies the whole line of this debate. A company doesnt want its driver to be at fault opens ways for al kinds of law suits so yeah the camera can protect you the companies lawyer if doing there job will argue to your side. in the event the qc is what takes your eyes off the road then doesn't that make it your dms fault for sending you those messages?

I dont know about any one driving a truck but when im driving my pickup down the road and I want a drink or a snack I clear my mirrors and access the traffic around me take a good look at whats in front and try to give myself a bit of room in front so if someone brakes hard I got a bit more time and a camera will see that. All you have to do is watch around you while you're running down the road and that glance at the qc or the gauges wont cost you your job with a camera. Like I said before a camera pointing at you should do nothing more then to make you think of becoming a safer driver thats it in the end. Im not in your trucks but there is some reason you all are afraid of these things.

Is having diabetes type 2 a disqualifier for most companies starting out as a new driver.

Look up dot medical requirements I know you can but it depends on how its controlled. Mostly the medicine and how much of it you take.

Seriously wonder about you all sitting there moaning and groaning about a little camera that they have yet to even put in your truck. Its 6 months away. We have military and police that spend there lives on camera or worse give their lives on camera so you can have a choice so you can voice that choice and this is how you choose to voice it. Stop for a moment and think of all those people in Baltimore right now. ON CAMERA doing their job long after their 9-5 was over getting hurt. And all of you throw a fit because your lifestyle might get interrupted because they stick a camera in your truck. Well ill tell you I have been fighting for over a month to get my medical clearances and if they want to put a camera in my face to protect me against some idiot driver go for it. Will just force me to become a better driver. I hope you all stop this bullsh t about a stupid camera when we spend our lives on camera what the heck is one more? Hope you stop and pray for Baltimore too those cops have given there all on camera while they should have been at home but instead fight for us. And vets are no different both my parents were vets!
