I quit the pot, and I want to drive trucks.

Before I started CDL school I went to a professional clinic after having passed 3 at home tests. All UA. I requested the "mock" DOT test. Same test as DOT except the results are not reported. I was the only one to get the results. I knew that even after the at home tests, the real test could show past activities and would be a matter of DOT record forever. Cost me about 40 extra bucks but was worth it for peace of mind.

Question about reefer. The cold kind

I have a reefer question. Stemming from my first experience pulling one just last weekend. I checked it when I left the chicken plant, loaded, at it was running and set at 20 degrees continuous as per the shippers specs. I drove 2 hours to my overnight stop, got out and checked the refer unit. Wasn't running. Well, it had recently been rebuilt by the company owner. It wouldn't start. Wouldn't even try to turn over. Well, I have been a reefer expert in my earlier life, but never a reefer mechanic. Ended up calling the owner at 11 o'clock that night. He said just don't worry about it and bring it in to the yard first thing the next morning which was 30 minutes away. Anyway, here's my question.....do the newer reefer units have any monitoring system that shows temperature and whether or not the unit is running that shows inside the cab? In an older model truck, you really can't hear it running back there over he sound of the truck engine. At least that was my experience. And if there is no such device, let me just say this.......patent pending 07/23/2015.

DOT Drug Testing: Urinalysis or Hair Follicle?

double-quotes-start.png

After doing more searching...... It looks like my choices in the past will stop me from going for this new career... I dont have years to wait.... wow, this was the last thing i needed tonight.

double-quotes-end.png

No man You don't have to put it on hold. Honestly, many of us are former partakers in the herb. I stopped because I wanted this career, and it only took a couple of months to clean out. Passed every dot test. You just have to make a choice too stop and not recontaminate yourself. Now, that said, I've only been subjected to the urine test. I didn't do anything to mask it or dilute it. I just stopped using. And if I can do it, anyone can. I'm not at all ashamed to say I was a conniseur for many years. Loved it but had to make a change. When I retire, I'll probably get me a fat sack of the chronic and have a blast. But, I digress, don't give up the ship. CR England said to me that they go back 6 months. And a lot of the companies I checked only do urine test. So don't sweat it. Or, DO sweat it. Drink lots of fluids, sweat alot, take some good clean out products, crap alot (lots of fat in the colon), don't recontaminate. You'll be able to make this a career. Just watch your mirrors FER GOSH SAKES.......WATCH YER MIRRORS!!!!!!!

Did a spell check. Had to correct retire. See what years of smoking will do to ya?

Had it downloaded but never really used it. I just launched it and entered my trip to Warners NY that I'm about to leave on. Wow. Every truck stop from here to Chi Chi Jima. Found the one I want to end up at at the end of my 11. Nice for trip planning.

GPS?

I use a Garmin dezl760. I like it because it has all the bells and whistles, but mainly it alerts me of upcoming weigh stations when I'm on unfamiliar highways. Also trucks stops on my route. Upcoming speed changes Alot of stuff like that. Bought a refurbished one off of Amazon for just over 200.00. Also it split screens and shows actual pictures of the exits to take and which lanes you should be in. I like it.
