Looking for info on retrofitting 70s-80s peterbuilt
I dream of purchasing a 70s era tractor and retrofitting it. Does anyone have any experience with this? (price/nec upgrades?) Before i just read through all the epa paperwork. Sorry if this comes up all the time. Also, i cannot say thank you enough for the highroad training, i passed all my california tests the first time for my permit and was very very knowledgable for swift school. It took most of the stress out of testing and learning at the school. Everyone was worried. Except me, ha. 2 more weeks and ill be on the road saving for my own rig. Thank you, everyone should study here. *note* there are some things that are different in ca compared to the test, but learning a few things was better than cramming 40 or so pages in 2days. Study before you go friends

Do i need a passenger endorsement to bring wife/ gf/ brother in truck?
I am working through the highroad program and am up to the passenger section. I dont have any desire right now to drive a bus or get my passenger endorsement. Would I need a passenger endorsement to bring a passenger in the truck???
Also, I love the program and appreciate you guys putting it together and offering it for free! I felt that there was no way I could cram all that information and feel confident when I take my test. While im not done yet, I feel that I am going to do great and am hoping to get it the first time.

No "shift gates" eaton transmission?
I have been preemptively hired for a small company after I get my cdl. I went out with their driver trainer for half the day, drove safely, and was hired. The transmission did not have a spring loaded lockout for reverse/low and I found it extremely difficult to be in the correct gear. I managed, but I could feel no separation between any of the gears. (sorry i dont know the proper terms for the problem) ---It felt all hotdog down a hallway (for lack of a better expression) when I was trying to find gears, and had a hard time not grinding reverse. Should I decline the job? Should I state that I would not feel safe driving it? Should I nut up and just drive hoping for a better truck or a learning experience to be better in the end. --- I really dont want to get stuck on that truck and have the feeling I may end up on it. I also cant help thinking that most/all of their trucks are hammered. Id like to assume that i was put on the worst truck that way if I was god awful I wouldnt hurt a nice one, but even the trainer recommended changing companies asap.(???) I am going to have a talk with the trainer next we meetup but also dont want to burn any bridges or seem ungrateful. I do need the job after all. I do still have a week left and have clean driving/criminal record
