Air leak in the manual transmission
Thanks guys for your input. Apparently between the bottom of the shifter and underneath the cab, the air line came loose. How that happened I have no idea

Air leak in the manual transmission
At first I thought it was the lever wasn't going down all the way or something. But turns out the leak is actually coming from a valve or something like what G- Town mentioned. It's coming from underneath the cab so unfortunately I cannot get to it
The range selector is air operated. I've never had leakage problems, but I hear the air if the lever isn't completely up or down. Can you look to see if the lever isn't sticking on something, keeping it from closing all the way?k

Air leak in the manual transmission
Hi, Has anyone expierenced an air leak in the manual transmission shifter? On a 10 speed there is that lever that you select to switch from low to high and visa versa. In my case it first started as a small leak but when I got to the shipper it seemed to have increased and I have to pull the lever up in order to keep it from leaking air from my tanks. Also when I was trying to back into the door, I of course had the lever down to back in low gear and I noticed that the clutch pedal was vibrating. I had to engage the clutch brake to stop the vibration. That along with the fact that when I switch the lever down I don't hear the clicking sound it always makes but just leaking air. I bobtailed around the yard some and my speed was 10 miles even though I had it in first gear, the lever was down and leaking air. I'm wondering if it's not engaging any of the low gears now and due to the air leak?
Any thoughts or knowledge on this? Thanks

I am a Mormon myself, been inactive for few years and am trying to get back myself. I am just starting out here in the trucking part so I don't really have any advice to give. What I have been trying to do is to study the scriptures and each time I'm home get to church. I suppose if it is possible or there is a ward nearby, then you could probably call and ask for a ride. In my case, I have never been comfortable with doing that though, just getting the ride part. It is hard for me to approach people and what not.

11/3 plan from Roehl, maybe Schneider?
I'm currently with Roehl. One of my trainers is on the 7 days out and 7 home time and what I'm currently on is the national fleet with every 11 days out, get 72 hours home time. Depending upon the fleet manager, it usually works but sometimes they will send you a new load that you have to cut your 72 short just to make it on time.

So I have a very dumb question to ask. I didn't receive any citations but in my failure to stop at a weigh station that I had thought was only for agriculture,( yeah pretty stupid on my part) I of course was pulled over and a brief inspection was conducted. On the sheet it states my failure to enter the weigh station but again the state trooper did not issue a citation. Now not being issued a citation, would that even matter at this point since I received this inspection? I have to send it in to the company for them to sign it and return to the state. Can this hurt me in terms of being considered still employable and such?

You don't need anything crazy to start as others mentioned. If you want to spend a few bucks more, the Cobra 29 has stood the test of time as a solid radio that can be improved upon down the road. Or, just leave it alone and have a solid radio that will work every time you switch it on. The antenna is built into your truck, the owners manual might let you know where they run the coax for the antenna. Red = hot / black = ground.
I have a 2015 Prostar and the wires are green and white instead of red and black. So in my case what would be the ground?

Over the years I've watched the CB save lives many, many times. I've also enjoyed a ton of fantastic conversations, gotten directions to customers, found out about traffic and weather up ahead, been warned about obstructions in the road ahead, and been notified of problems with my truck.
I personally wouldn't want to drive 50 feet in a big rig without a CB radio but that's because I know from experience how critically important they are.
Oddly enough I've found over the years there are an awful lot of people who seem to take an almost angry and passionate stand against using a CB as if their reputation would be hurt by doing so. They seem to have this serious distaste for them, but rarely do they have much experience with them either I've found.
Once you've experienced how helpful they can be and how critical they are to safety you realize you'd be a fool for not having a CB in your truck. To those people I would ask, "Are you aware of the fact that there's an on/off switch?" You might want to turn it off if you're sitting at a truck stop in West Memphis or something but wouldn't it be nice to know about the black ice on the road ahead sending trucks into the ditch, or the DOT inspections going on in the rest area 45 minutes up the road, or the cop that's sticking out into your lane of traffic around the blind curve ahead?
If you're going to drive a rig you should have a CB. You can always turn it off if need be. But if you choose not to have one in the truck at all I'd love to hear how you feel that's helping you be a safer, more informed driver.
Thanks for posting this. I'm a new driver, only been out 3 months now. I met one experienced driver who was helping me back into a space one night asked if I had my radio turned on. That was when I had just started driving solo. My trainers never had them in their trucks and so, due to that and then how expensive they are, I never got around to getting one. But I saw a post on FB where a driver posted about the huge accident pile up and how he had been on his CB trying to warn many other drivers. I then stated looking here and have been rethinking that I may need to seriously look at getting one. I have no idea how to turn one though or which channel would one need to use?

I'm talking about practice on the range...pre trip inspection of brakes.
Yea they can seem difficult. I know what you mean. For me what worked best was going through the exact steps over and over again. This test if I'm not mistaken is one where you can't go wrong on it. Each time you get into the truck, you should make it a priority to go through the air brakes test at least once if not more than once, that way come time for your test, it'll just be natural for you and you'll slide without even a second thought.

Air leak in the manual transmission
They did have to get under it at first to locate the source of the leak but then they plugged it from inside the cab. From under the the rubber boot at the bottom of the shifter.
