Wind & Carelessness

Same in New Mexico. Got an empty reefer, so it looks like I won't be moving for another 5 hours or so. I almost got tossed over once, it ain't worth it. Cheaper to stay put.

Short Load

2 miles round trip. Deliver a dry grocery load at the Walmart down the street from the DC, go up the street to get water, then head back to the DC. Get paid $70 to do that load haha. Only takes 30 minutes give or take.

Another Blood Pressure Question

Obviously let them know you take it and no it won't be a problem. This industry runs on caffeine and blood pressure medication. I take 40mg Lisinopril. I got hbp at a young age (23), hypertension runs in my family.

Only annoyance is due to the meds we have to renew our physical every year, we aren't allowed the 2 year physical due to having to take hbp meds.

Does living near a terminal allow for more hometime?

I think it's beneficial when it comes to getting home on time along with local/dedicated opportunities.

What do you love about trucking

I like that I am given my assignment then left alone. As long as I do my job right, I am not told how to do anything. It's being your own boss without the headaches of being a boss.

I basically get paid to drive around my state and listen to music. It's not necessarily that simple but in essence it is. I see myself doing this for a long time unless something else in life happens. Regardless I don't regret getting into this industry.

Planned Protest in Illinois Today...

I don't feel bad for any of these owner operators or lease operators. Business is business. If you can't compete, you lose.

Tractor Man is Back!

Thanks Big Scott, Raptor and Packrat.

Gladhand! I am Happy to see you are still in the Trucking game. You were a couple of classes ahead of me at the Academy, so you must be real close to the 3 year mark. I'm sure those debts you had are long gone by now, and your bank account is healthy. I'm sure your number is still in my contacts. I'll hunt it down and shoot you a text.

Be 3 years in April. Had a couple roadblocks here and there, but been going strong. Been dedicated Walmart for a year. It has it's days but I don't miss otr haha. Anyways good luck and keep the shiny side up.
