I'm a photojournalist and Granddaughter of the late Long Haul driver 'Calamity Jane' (see profile picture above). Through the late 70s-90s I had the joyful experience of secretly riding with my grandmother, sharing certain legs of her trips in the southern corridor of the U.S.; hiding in the back of cab at weigh stations and such.
Today, I am working on a photojournalism project documenting the road and life surrounding today's lady trucking community. In many ways it is a measure to both honor my late grandmother and to see what has changed in the game of trucking.

Lady drivers and photographing the life
Hi ladies,
I'm a female photojournalist and Granddaughter of the late Long Haul driver 'Calamity Jane' (see profile picture). Through the late 70s-90s I had the joyful experience of secretly riding with my grandmother, sharing certain legs of her trips in the southern corridor of the U.S.; hiding in the back of cab at weigh stations and such.
Today, I am working on a photojournalism project documenting the road and life surrounding today's lady trucking community. In many ways it is a measure to both honor my late grandmother and to see what has changed in the game of trucking for women. I would like to incorporate women driver road photography as well as a more collaborative effort, if possible-"how you see things".
