95 per cent sure I am going to get CDL but is my age a problem

Guys! All BULL**** aside....This is by far the best website I could have found to get info.

I have read Brett's Book and loved it! I'm about 60 per cent finished on the High Road online training.. I have read many other post and articles here... I have asked several questions and within a very short period I received tons of answers....

You guys deserve a lot of credit!

Thanks, I am very grateful for all of you guys!

Examples of cheating on logbooks

O.K. Bud A.....maybe I asked that question the wrong way.....There has to be examples of how truckers cheated on log books somewhere.....I'm definitely not a cop......I've been going thru the cdl training here on this site and these logbooks are little confusing....

Is age a factor?

I am 50 years old and in good health. Should I be worried that I won't be hired at my age? I don't have high blood pressure or anything. I do take cholesterol medicine but thats it! My eyesight is good long distance...I just passed the eye test with my regular drivers license last month..I do use cheap reading glasses to read small print though...

Can anybody tell me what the physical covers and if anything above should be a concern?

Clarification on Drug and Alcohol Test

Can someone help me understand this?

I am thinking about getting my CDL....I am not concerned at all about drug test but I do drink beer when I am at home say roughly 6 pack a day..Is this a concern? I assume beer consumption would show up on the hair test....Should I quit drinking all together a certain time frame before submitting to this test for a cdl or is this not a concern at all? Probably stupid question but I need to ask anyway....

Getting started with Truck Driver Institute’s Dallas campus

I am thinking about getting my CDl from Truck Driver Institute in Dallas Texas. I believe these guys are affiliated with Werner. I am being told that the cash price for class is $5000 and probably closer to $8000 if financed. I am also being told that all of the 25 companies that recruit from the class offer some kind of tuition reimbursement if you are employed with them at least a year or so. 3 week class which seems amazing to me but anyway...I am also being told that they have both otr and local companies that hire from the school.

I am trying to decide what to do....OTR and being gone for 6 or more weeks at a time without being home is just not good for my situation. I'm sure this is common. I believe most local or regional jobs where you are home every weekend or even every night or two is probably not going to go to a newbie.....

Anybody have experience with something like this and getting a job that gets you home for real every weekend? I don't mind working 7 days a week but I would like to be home most nights.....

Is that too much to expect? Please tell me what you think....
