CT Nice to see a fellow cook looking for a career that will make us feel like were accomplishing something. Not everyone will accept that someone from a kitchen can hack it. But I gurantee you the stress matches if not exceed what some drivers deal with. None the less both W.E and Rohel look like good starting points. But if your going to drive for a living expect not to be home every night for the first year or two. Again each situation is different. Western is definitely in my top 5. Now as for 30k in the kitchen here in Washington only Chef's get that and us line cooks average 18 to 24, Thus why im looking to drive. I have 3 kids and college isn't getting any cheaper. Either way good luck.

A Week In The Life Of A Flatbed Driver
Have to bump. Great post. I haven't posted nothing, as im that kid that was always listening and never speaking but Old School really puts a great perspective to not only otr life but what its like to flatbed. With all that said this post only makes me more anxious to get out there and unwrapp my own present.

WIA not available to employed!
Sorry need to rant and rave. I have been trying to figure out a way to fund schooling. Grants are not an option because im currently employed. They will give all the welfare recipents help, but if your currently contributing to society theres no help for you. Someone here has to have better info on this and what options a father of three and husband has at his exposure.
