2016 Prime Training Update I

Good Luck and you will do fine! Like I said if you have any questions just ask! And one more Tip...they don't serve late dinner, when you check in at the inn, to your right (when your facing the counter) will be a refrigerator with a good free meal in it or next door is a burger stand.

2016 Prime Training Update I

Your recruiter is right, you will have to retest. They only tests you will have to take are the following CDL -combo, air brakes, and tanker. You do not have to obtain your Haz-mat. It is nice to have! If I were you, test for every endorsement! Use this link...http://driving-tests.org/missouri/mo-cdl-practice-test/ these questions are very, very close to the same as the test! Remember your first couple of days are going to be busy. Stay cool, relax, and everything will go fine. Refer back to my first post to help you out. And by the way the DMV should come down to the campus inn, I believe on Wed., just study that link and you will be cool! Let me know how you are doing and if you have any questions, just ask! Also, word of advise, watch out for the Campus Inn Lawyers (people who know it all)!

Advise need please

Ok have a load going into Brooklynn New York. Will be taking the 278 into Brooklynn, then to a staging area off the 278. Have to be there at 0600 Friday. Not sure of the traffic, only drove in philly and NJ. Traffic about the same? I am thinking of leaving PA around 2200hrs so this should leave me enough time to play with and not rush. Going to try to make this a 8-2 spilt so I can drop and leave. Any advise on the traffic and what to incur would be great. Not relying on GPS, using maps and GPS. Thanks in advance

First, congrats on starting with Prime! I really enjoy it! What division are you planning on go in? I would not get in a rush to get a trainer!! Just don't hop in the first truck you see! I made that mistake....a very bad experience! Check out this link....this will help you get through your PSD and TNT training. Have any questions don't hesitate to ask! Good Luck! https://www.truckingtruth.com/truckers-forum/Topic-14807/Page-1/2016-prime-training-update-i

Oh man...Rookie driving mistakes

Pulling out of the fuel island at the TA in Aurora Oregon and I didn't pay attention to my mirrors.. went and bent my trailer wheel on the island curb and knocked over a trash can. What makes it worse is I was driving around the lot and didn't know I bent the wheel until everyone was staring at my trailer when I was going for a parking spot... pay attention.

time to take a nap....just kidding, be safe! It could have been worse!

TMC Transportation Class A in house Program

On the 22nd I will be starting my training for my cdl with TMC. I am unsure how long they have been doing this, so I figured I would ty to blog my exp.

Here is my background and reasons I chose TMC.

I am 26yrs old minister and just got married three weeks ago. I have worked factory jobs and some office jobs in my adult life. Recently the shop I am currently at cut our hours and was on the verge of laying off. For anyone who is getting married would not take this lightly. I threw the idea out to my fiancé after a sparked interest after meeting an O/O. She was very supportive since I have no college education. After researching here and making calls, I was on the verge of signing with Millis Transfer. I applied at Millis, Schneider, and swift. Schneider had opportunities but not what I was expecting. Millis couldn't give me the home time I needed. In a dilemma I was unsure if I should drive. I called a driving school and they listed companies that sign out of their school. I wrote them down and called to inquire more about their company. I spoke to TMC and the recruiter was very open and even offered to make a conference call to bring my fiancé in to discuss stuff. Not only that but unlike other companies, she kept in touch. Schneider told me to call back when I was ready and the same with Millis. The time I made the decision to pursue driving, I was getting married and couldn't postpone the honeymoon. TMC worked around that and my ministerial obligations. I told them when and its been history since. My recruiter and I have talked almost every week either phone or email. This spoke to me and my wife a lot. Well this is all I can think of for now. Stay tuned for updates!

First, Congrats on your marriage! Just remember a recruiter may tell you things you want to hear! Besure to get things in writing! Good Luck!!
