My high school was just downwind from a M&M Mars plant. Nothing worse than being in football practice having to smell Skittles all afternoon.

LinkedIn has an option where you can make your profile hidden from everyone. Mine's hidden right now. I'm still reaching out to companies. If they ask about my work history or current situation, I'll tell them. I honestly believe they have more important things to do than spent time looking up every applicant's LinkedIn profile and comparing notes (for those that even have one).

As has been said, there are many lenders out there, and most of them want to make loans. Some lenders have a certain taste they want, and performance pay may not be one of them. Maybe try credit unions, especially those in the area you are considering buying. I saw you are a veteran, so also consider USAA and Navy Federal (full disclosure: I used to work for USAA and I think very highly of them).

It may not be the same thing, but think of yourself as a business owner (even as a company driver). If I'm a lender, what's important to me when giving you a loan? The ability to pay it back! Business owners get mortgages all the time, but they have tax returns, income projections, etc. Come prepared to the lender with everything you know. How about bringing a full year projection of your income? Yes, you earn cpm, but estimate it out, using conservative figures, to what you are likely to earn. This is what they want to see.

There's a saying in the sales business, "Some will, some won't, so what, who's next?" It goes both ways.

Just to clarify, I was asking about my bow in general. It has zero bearing on which company I'd pick. If the company handbook says something is off limits, then it's off limits.

I kissed someone's bumper two years ago. It was minor, and no police were involved, but she eventually felt like having State Farm buy her another bumper on my behalf, so I have an accident on my CLUE report. Will this hurt my chances with companies? I don't have any tickets or violations otherwise.

Company training vs. private CDL school. There is a school here locally, and also know of one in Dallas (I'm sure there's several up there). While I can afford the schooling if I chose that route, I'd like to start earning money faster, even at a training wage. Maybe I've answered my own question.

Would you recommend getting my home state CDL permit before going to a company sponsored training? I've been reading a lot about Prime and it seems like they (and the state of Missouri) are discouraging this.

Here's an "out there" question. I know people in several states who own land and could see myself wanting to hunt during the season on my off time. Do you think companies, and/or law enforcement, would have an issue with having a compound bow with me? I'm certain every single company has a rule against carrying a firearm on the job (and I've had my carry license long enough to know that compiling with state and local laws all over the country would be next to impossible).

I was visiting South Dakota a few years ago and I was telling a guy about how we talk about the weather in Texas (if you don't like the weather, just wait 15 minutes). He described weather in South Dakota the exact same as you.

I've been reading through your post, and I wish I had more encouraging words for you. It sucks now, and it's not easy, but you did the right thing, and no one can take that from you. This will pass, and you'll be stronger. I know that's a cliche but it's been true in my own life too.

Chickie, I'm new on the forum, and yours was the one of the training blogs I read first. I can't imagine how your current situation feels. You showed a ton of perseverance and resolve during your training, so no one doubts your strength. Sometimes things have a way of working themselves out. And sometimes not. I hope a resolution for the best comes about from your company.

I agree with the others about contacting all the parties involved, be it your employer, and any rent/bills/utilities/etc. As a financial advisor, I've found communication can make the difference when dealing with late accounts. Granted, it's not a guarantee by any means. Companies react the harshest when they don't have any other options. A willingness to work with them can sometimes give them a better option for you. And yes, I've done this in my own life (regarding the IRS no less.)

I know your weekend went to pot, but maybe hold off your notice until Monday to see if things are still upside down by then.

(P.S. I decided to contact Prime myself so I've officially taken my first step, assuming they call me back.)
