Hi, I know there are some drivers out there. G-Town and Errol V. I had not looked at Swift as an option for training and employment. I did casually talk to a recruiter. My training would be in Richmond Va. What I am asking is how is your experience with Swift. I guess I did not look at them because they are very large and all the stuff that you can read elsewhere. Which I only read posts on TT now 😂 Any input would be appreciated. Again I do have a valid Class A CDL. ZERO experience and graduated from truck driving school in 2009. Any input would be much appreciated.
Well, I don't have any Swift experience but I can tell you Richmond is a terrible place filled with terrible people. But that has nothing to do with Swift. As a Richmond resident, it's my duty to warn you before you enter this toilet bowl called "RVA."

Swift gets a bad rep from some drivers even on here. From what I read about there training, mentor stage, then to solo, I personally think they are a stand up company. I considered going to Richmond academy but am most likely going to CDS in Roanoke instead. Will most likely send them an app anyway. I have my eye on a smaller company also. Check out Western Express also, they advertise "Have a CDL?, No Experience, No problem!" Of course you will have to go out with a trainer. How far are you from Mt. Airy?

Thanks Chris K. , I am about 110 miles from Mt. Airy I'm in upper Cleveland Co. about 50 miles west of Charlotte
There's a team company there called Cooke and they are pretty decent. Zone pay. Now ten years ago it was La and back 750-800 for the trip. Washington and back 850/900 but I'm not sure what they pay now.
Oh and you were out 7 days tops home 2. Furniture and Princess house from Mt Airy produce back.
Thanks Chris K.

Yes, but the Swift terminal is just downwind from the Nabisco plant. Cookies in the air!
Here's a link to my Swift Academy
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

My high school was just downwind from a M&M Mars plant. Nothing worse than being in football practice having to smell Skittles all afternoon.

Hackettstown I deliver to that Walmart several times per month. I like that area.
