US Xpress Home daily Walmart account

Hi I just spoke with a recruiter at USXpress discussing the Walmart dedicated out of Gordonsville,VA. With my experience I was told I would make .54 per mile as well as stop pay all in all averages out to about 1200 per week. Does anyone have any information on these positions? Any info would help. I am currently delivering Budweiser products and looking for something that isn't back breaking work.

Thinking of going tanker

Hello all I have been doing local beer deliveries for the past 2+ years and thinking of getting my tanker endorsement. I currently drive a 48’ dry van trailer. I have been looking at companies like eagle as they are very popular in the RICHMOND,VA area but I am also interested in hauling food grade tankers but many want tanker experience. Any advice on companies to gain that tanker experience?

1 year in looking for the next steps.

Hello everyone I have been driving local for the past year delivering beverages and looking to further my driving career. I earned my cdl through this company and have fulfilled my 1 year contract to stay employed with them however I am starting to feel stagnant and looking to get into a more lucrative driving company that doesn't really require too much back breaking work such as unloading and putting products away. I am in the process of studying for my Hazmat (thinking about tanker) and I am also looking into company's that offer regional as well as local work as I am a father of a young daughter. I am not opposed to the "mega carriers" but from what I hear the pay isn't as much as they advertise. I reside in Virginia and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions to some companies that I should look into?

Beverage distribution interview

Hello I currently work in beverage distribution as a matter of fact i went in with a cdl permit and they trained me to get my cdl. I agree depending on what company you are with and what area you are assigned in your trailer size can vary greatly. I currently run a grocery route with convenience stores and drive a daycab with a 48' trailer. With your background doing the work will come to you as you are being trained as for driving im sure you will receive route training before they throw you out there. Just learn as much as you can during training and relax the rest will come to you. Best of luck!

Offered a position at a local beverage distribution company....

Thank you all on your insight the one thing that I gathered from most of the replies were options of going OTR. For me that's not important I would much rather stay local as I have a child who is too young for me to be away from for extended periods of time.

Offered a position at a local beverage distribution company....

Hello all I studied and recently obtained my CDL-A Permit and was on my journey of getting my CDL. I spoke with one of my close friends who completed CDL school to get his CDL and says that it was pretty expensive. Well after researching some options I found that there is a way of me to get my CDL while working full-time for the company for free just sign a document stating I will stay for at least 1 year. Does this sound like a good idea or is it better to attend school?
