"I Passed :-) "

Took my Pre-trip, Skills and Driving test this morning and I passed everything. Such a huge relief. I have been told by several this tester is a hard ass but at the end of the entire thing he had NOTHING but great things to say about my driving. In fact he said "you must have done a few times before this" I said no sir, I had my 10 ton truck license while in the Navy 25 years ago but that is nothing like these rigs. I am glad to have that done and just wanted to share my good news with all of you. Thanks again for such an Awesome site. Mark

CDL Test Thursday

Well, the day is here for testing with the AZ D.O.T. - T-4 hours and I will be starting my Pre-Trip with the Tester. I know I can do this, I just need to hit my stops, starts, gears and turns as smooth as I can. Have a great day everyone.

Get Out And Talk To Those Drivers, Folks. You Won't Be Sorry

Tim, I agree 100% - I spoke to a guy last week that graduated (from the same school I am attending) 2 years ago and he has been driving his leased truck through Knight. Lots of info. shared from this guy. I talked to another guy that graduated 8 months ago and he has been with Werner and I received even more info than the first. Both were more than willing to share their experiences and also throw out some tips. Mark

CDL Test Thursday

Thank you very much Andy, Tim, and Jessica. I appreciate it very much. Brett THANKS again (I know I have said it before) but I would not have been able to get as far as I have in a short time without this site and all the training you have allowed us all to utilize. Also, thanks for ALL of your positive comments I appreciate it. Will keep you all posted on how it goes. Mark

Settling in at Swift

Thanks for posting all of this info. Sheffield Mick, I am getting very close to testing for my CDL and Swift is one of the companies I am deciding on. Hope you don't mind if I hit you up with some questions soon. I know you're on the road so if you can't reply right away that is fine also. Mark.

I need Practice.. How do I do that

Hey Dewayne, I started CDL School about 2 weeks ago and didn't have one minute experience driving these rigs. I did study the High Road training program for about 2 weeks before class started and arrived my first day with CDL Permit in hand. I was in class for 1/2 the day on my first day and shortly after lunch I went and tested out on all of my endorsements. Second day of class was a quick and simple version of log books. (NOTHING like the training program on here lays it out) So, by Wednesday the first week of class I was able to go to the truck yard and start driving and learning the trucks hands on. Only other thing I can say is LISTEN to your instructors, they have been really helpful and have taught me a ton. (along with Brett's High Road Training Program.) Mark
