Could I make money as an owner op with my wife as my co-driver?

I've read alot about leases being a bad deal and you don't make money but what if I leased and teamed up with my wife? How much would we make? Would it be let's say 1.36 a mile each or would it be let's say 1.50 split? I thought this is a great idea but would like to know what you older more experienced drivers think.

haha! Glad to see im not alone on the crazy trucker front chickie monster, I had one guy that trained us for half the week and another guy who trained us the other half of the week and the guy at the beginning of the week was cool as hell but he just started training so the second half of the week the other guy would show up to train at ten o clock and was ****ed off as soon as he got their wouldn't let the students in the back talk and every time you grinded gears he'd start screaming mouther ****er! If you **** up this truck your the one paying for it which freaked me out cause I was working at furniture store before this so I couldn't afford that and it got worse when I'd make a turn he would start yelling swing that ****er wide ******* then I'd start yelling back and he'd open his jacket and show me his gun and ask if I wanted more motivation to listen, and I'd stop and get out but then he'd buy me a soda afterward lol like it was all good I put up with that for a month and got my cdl but have been a little gun shy to head out with a trainer and I got my license back in April and I want to drive but can't live with a guy like that

Any info on Hogan transportations dollar general account and training program?

I know that they unload their own trucks and saw a YouTube video of a guy unloading and everything is loaded on carts and separated by card board so stops don't get mixed up and I been unloading trucks for walmart, ups, rhienhardt, alliance industries for most of my adult life so having all my stuff pre loaded on carts already makes unloading 100 times easier so I'm not too worried about the unloading part but I can't find anything on their training program at all so I was hoping some of the pros on here could give me a little insight in to their program, any info at all would be appreciated.

Leasing as a student fresh out of school a good idea?

alright thanks for all the great advice everybody, I think I will just hold off and work for a year and keep track of everything maybe like a journal or something and right down how much I'd be paid if I were leasing and write down the fuel cost. The breakdowns, etc and really kinda get a feel for it to see if I'm gonna like it but again can't thank everybody for all the great comments.

hey what's up everybody had Western express tell me that they would be willing to lease a truck to me and my wallet and heart says yeah bro do it! But my brain and common sense says cmon dude are you retarded? I mean I'd like my own truck but I'd also like a little experience before I jumped in to that
