I left CRST last year because of family. I left Covenant due to a sexual assault by my codriver who was also terminated for alcohol on the truck.
You said you left covenant so you and you wanted to team with your husband. What is wrong with the company you are with now?

It looks like I may have been looking at Prime's corporate employee prices. Prime's Benefit Package
Either way, I would like to get a good sense of what benefits cost because that is a real factor to consider.

Hello all,
My search for the right company continues since the one company I was leaning towards, Prime, has incredibly high health insurance costs. $1,341.73 a month for family coverage is higher than anyone should pay for coverage. There appears to be a similar cost structure for the companies that have their benefits cost readily available for people to see. I had heard that trucking offered great and affordable insurance so maybe I am overlooking. I worry because I will be taking a sever pay decrease to enter trucking but apparently get hit with a near 400% increase in health insurance costs. This doesn't even include dental and vision.
So since we have members employed with a variety of companies I was wondering if it was possible for someone to post what the benefits cost for you particular company?
Thanks!

Is flatbed division something they keep private? I am interested in starting with Knight but everything I see on their site is about reefer and dry van.

IMHO, you are overthinking or reading into something you read a little too much.
Man you nailed me to tee. I always over think things.

Does anyone take company performance when considering your choice of employer? Of course this primarily applies to publicly traded companies that have to report earnings. I only ask because I was considering Knight Transportation but their released financial statements and future outlook is concerning.

You seem to have taken my ignorance with Prime and taken it personally and then made assumptions of my thought process.
And this too is an assumption.

I guess I may have perceived some comments on a different forum, facebook and on youtube the wrong way. It's difficult to cut through the bullsugar at times and determine what is authentic. I opted to post on this forum because of the wealth of wisdom and sincerity most of you have. Again, I did admit that I could be all the way wrong.
I have an expectation to provide for my family whilst enjoying what I do to provide for them. What I currently earn could never be met by being a trucker and I have already come to terms with that. That is why the house will be sold and smaller home in a smaller town is the plan. I have the material things I have now because my income supported it. I am more concerned with being happy than I am driving (insert car brand here). Or living in some house that's larger than we truly need.
I don't feel like I can do as well or better than the top earners. I have never driven a truck, I wouldn't know the first thing about being a top producer. I just want to make the right decisions going into it so to minimize regrets. Also, I don't know what in what I said lead you to assume that I feel as though I can come in and be a top driver. You seem to have taken my ignorance with Prime and taken it personally and then made assumptions of my thought process.
