Giving notice

I'm confused... you have left, were fired or are in limbo? Which is it?

Kevin L said:

I have decided to leave my current job after the holidays.

Then he said:

While asking the questions they basically told me that because I was upset and not happy with there policies they accepted my resignation effective immediately...

Jim Palmer Trucking - Missoula MT

I just mapped that out on Google Maps and that looks really exciting. I'm envious. Have fun and post when you're able to.

My pneumatic tanker job

Despite your best efforts, this doesn't sound like it's going to end well... like he will either quit because he's not being paid "what was promised" (as the top end pay he could eventually earn) or he's gonna wreck. Your examples of him not paying attention to signs are frightening to me. I'm not saying you haven't but have you considered asking him what, literally, every sign you pass says? I'm not sure you could reprogram him to pay attention to every sign but maybe.

Hello: Intro. to trucking truth.

Nail technician... smh... I had to read that twice. First time, I was all "the heck is he saying?" The second time, I was "ah, good dad joke."

Have the itch to go back OTR

Why not go back to Roehl? Might be the path of least resistance.

That was my first thought. I'm back at a DoD contractor I worked for previously for many reasons... they even granted me my previous service as counting towards my seniority; which really helps because I accrue more leave this way.

Absolutely drained, but ready for Prime

I was really pulling for him but his attitude either changed or, more likely, his patience wore thin and his true colors were revealed. One of my life lessons for my kids is that life is all about waiting. We wait for everything to happen: vacations, promotions, doctor's appointments, mom to stop talking so we can finally leave (haha) the party. To me, it sounds like Luke's #1 issue is waiting/patience. It's unfortunate; I wish him the best.

The wait is almost over!

You're welcome. I saved Daniel's guide off even though I may not pursue this dream for another year or more. It's an extremely well laid out document. It's also been recommended, on this site to do a YouTube search for "Apex driving school pre-trip inspection"... yeah, I have a running Word document where I copy off all advice and links the experienced truckers here put up.

My Experience So Far With Schneider And Going Forward

I was going to post some words of encouragement but this says it all...

Yes, keep it going!!

Exactly what myself and likely others are interested in. Day to day life as a driver, plain and simple. Not just the highs and the lows. Many of us considering taking this leap of faith into trucking, want to be sure that any preconceived ideas we may have are as accurate as possible. What better way to get it than from someone who is out there doing it!
