How has the YouTube generation changed trucking???
I like Red Viking Trucker on Youtube. His attitude and outlook is exactly how I'm trying to be. You have to get out there and prove yourself and hustle. I think a lot of people feel things should be given to them instead of earning it. I'm going into this adventure with the mind set that I will have to prove myself. For me, failure is not an option. Most people are doomed to fail because they start out with the wrong attitude. Dale Clay is also another Youtuber that I really enjoy as well. I've found Youtube extremely helpful in my planning on this career.

Greetings, Trucking Truth! I've been lurking for a while now. I just started CDL training at Alliance. I wanted to thank everyone involved with this site! it as been a huge resource for me as I've decided to change careers and become a professional driver. The training materials on this site are top notch and have taught me alot. I'm still a little nervous due to the challenges ahead. But, I will face and overcome them. I've wanted to be a trucker since I was a kid. I can't wait to get out there and start learning and getting better! I'll be attending orientation at McElroy after graduation. I use to load flatbeds all the time. It will be nice to be the one driving them now! Thanks again to everyone for all of the knowledge that is on here, I really appreciate it!!!

I'm almost to my final decision on which company I am going to go with!
I've been debating TMC and McElroy as well. For me, I'm going with McElroy. I've already been invited to attend orientation with both companies, but McElroy wins out for me. I like the guaranteed home time that McElroy has. I didn't realize how hard it would be choosing a first company to go to. I also like the tuition reimbursement that McElroy has. I had to rule out Maverick due to home time. I still have 3.5 more weeks of cdl school then off to McElroy!!!
Congrats on your new career!! I wish you the best of luck!!

One step closer!!
I passed my CDL permit test and all of the endorsement tests today!!! I aced all of them except the Hazmat, and I only missed 3 on that one. The training on this site is what made that possible! Now, 3 weeks of road and backing training. After I pass the road, backing, and PTI test I will head to Alabama to start training at McElroy. Today has been a great day!! Stay safe out there everyone!!
