Are Companies Putting Driver Facing Cameras In Their Trucks?
Roehl has announced that all trucks wil be equipped with cameras over the next two years. They record based on triggering events. 1) hard braking 2) roll over sensors (a pothole filled dirt lot will set this off) 3) Anytime you have less then 4 seconds following distance from the vehicle in front of you. (This one was announced recently as they began to learn how to adjust the camera software).

I've only driven freightliner cascadia's. 10spd and a little time in an automatic. I've seen these 680' and 660's. Is there a significant difference between the two models? They look nice. How do you like yours?

Photobucket Just Put Everyone's Photos In Jail!
Ok. I emailed two photos to my gallery. How exactly do I make one of them my avatar? 🙄
Is it the one I chose? If not, click on your name under your current avatar. That will take you to your profile. Scroll down to where you see your two photos. Right click on the one you want to use, choose "select image address" (or something similar to that), and paste it higher up on the page where it shows the box for your avatar address. Hopefully that wasn't too confusing.
That works. Thank you.

Anyone go into Trucking from career burnout?
I've been an Ironworker for 18 years. I'm now in the final phase of training for Roehl. I wanted to try something different, so I figured getting a CDL and learning to drive a truck would be interesting. I decided to go with Roehl's "get your CDL program" after researching for a while and discovering that a class A CDL isn't of much use without experience. Once I start driving solo I've got to complete 120,000 miles to fulfill my contract, after that who knows? I've got @13 days left with an OTR trainer, then I'll test out and get the keys to a truck. I'm enjoying everything so far. It's a big change from Ironworking. A lot of things had to line up in order for me to take advantage of the opportunity to try a new career. So far so good.

Info request (anyone went through Roehl payed for cdl training
$100 dollars per day. 5 days per week, except week 3 if you test for your cdl on Saturday. You receive your first direct deposit on the third Thursday after you start. I told my fleet manager that I would be ready to go out as of today, 5/10/17, so I've been waiting about 1 day. I expect it to be challenging for them to coordinate a trainer in my area, their nearest terminal is Gary Indiana. My class of three people was mostly handled by three instructors, and I drove three different trucks while there. Two had empty trailers, the third was loaded @32,000lbs. You'll get plenty of time behind the wheel.
that's where I'm thinking of going to how much did they pay in training and how long before you got check and how long you been waiting for otr trainer
I just finished their GYCDL training program in Conley, GA. I'm home in RI now waiting on an OTR trainer. I'm new to the trucking industry. I think their training program and accommodations were great so far.
Would like to have feed back good or bad to help me make a decision.
