Their trucks are pretty much as you have read. They have EPUs (giant battery pack), inverters you will have to buy and when you are in for maintenance have it installed. I know they have international pro stars and Freightliner cascadias in their fleet. Red trucks for the dry van division. I have seen both red and grey hauling flatbed. Grey is their special division trucks. Will either be flatbed or reefer.

I will be happy just to drive truck as well. I'm just curious as to what they actually have in the trucks already and what others have installed. I don't need every fancy gadget under the sun, just want some of the creature comforts, ya know? I want to know what to plan for as I want to avoid spending money at the truck stops as much as possible and do most, if not all my cooking from the truck. Also want to have a fridge since the 12 volt coolers don't seem as reliable from what I've researched

Nate...when I started with Roehl I was quite happy to have a truck with an engine and 10 wheels..lol. I drove all internationals. You'll get the following...collision avoidance system...including lane control...Sirius radio, bunk heat/ac. The inverter can be purchased and installed by Roehl only. I recall it was 375 plus 75 to install. Taken in payroll deductions? Thats pretty much it. I didn't want or need an inverter as I ran everything off of 12v receptacles. Good luck wit Roehl. Great company.

I would call or email them. They get back to you pretty quickly. They have a terminal in Phoenix so I can imagine you could get in with them.

So I've done tons of research on Roehl Transportation and I can't find any negative information, video's, insight's about them. I'm very impressed with their company, but apparently they don't hire in my area. Does anyone know if they hire in the Las Vegas, NV area by chance? Currently I live in Northern Cal, but in 18 months I'll be moving to Las Vegas, NV and I really want to work for a company like this. Is there a way I could find out where all their hiring areas are by chance? I have previous experience, so I know this appears to be an excellent company.

Gonna be starting with Roehl in about a month. Can anyone tell me what their trucks come with? Are they pretty bare bones? All their site says is they have an epu, if you want an inverter, you gotta pay for one and they install it.

the idea/concept sounds nice but there's no way that will be a long haul vehicle since where the sleeper would be is replaced by the fuel cells

by asking people on sites like this one. Any places in particular you're looking at? You just gotta do a lot of digging. I myself did a lot of research before signing up with Roehl Transport's get your cdl program. I found a lot of help from people on here.

How can you tell if some of the schools or recruiting places are legit? I have tried finding information on line but all I can find is their sales pitch.

I will be possibly going to Appleton on May 8th for the GYCDL. Just gotta do the physical and permit test. I'm worried about that too. Hopefully they can set me up with a trainer quickly. I don't want to sit around for weeks waiting, can't afford that.

Well, I got my CDL last Monday. A copy was sent to Safety the same day and after a week of waiting still no trainer. Wouldn't be a problem except for income. I have NO special requests and told them I would be willing to drive to whatever terminal they need me to if they will just put me in a truck. Frustrating to say the least. My FTM (Fleet Training Manager) has a bit of a memory issue and keeps forgetting to follow up with me. Sitting tight waiting but man I don't wanna get super rusty before jumping back into a truck (weekend rust was bad enough through GYCDL much less a week of sitting around). Maybe I am a bit impatient, but I just wanna be able to provide for my Family is all and I can't do that sitting at home.

Have my interview this afternoon and after that, the physical and then permit test. Tentatively scheduled to start class in Appleton on May 8th. Anyone else going or plan on going? Thinking about doing dry van or reefer. Any opinions on which one I should do? Not ready to start flatbed or curtain yet, maybe in the future.
